Boston shopping

I missed it too. Too much going on this week to make it.

NM doesn't carry a great selection of YSL, bag wise at least.

I noticed that the Nordstrom at Natick carries YSL clothing for women. I thought that was interesting.

steve and barrys may go into the spot where barnes and nobles used to be downtown...pinkberry is also in talks with the city to move downtown. i think that could lure a lot of people down to downtown crossing.

I've yet to be at pinkberry nyc!! always sooo crowded - but ill be back at my hometown next weekend - not like it will be open or anything - but im always checking this thread for updates =)

thanks lucy!

They are putting a RL Rugby at Natikc Collection.

HUGE mistake. So many of those new retailers are not suriving and a few are actually pulling out.

^^i actually think the RL Rugby will do well in Natick..
there are a lot of preppy kids living in surrounding towns like Wellesley, Weston and Sudbury..

especially a lot of kids returning to the area on break from college this summer..

do they shop at Natick though. That mall is always SO dead when Im there. And when I DO see people...they look like your typical mall rats....not people who would shop at half of those stores.

Its the weirdest mall. LOL

Labeladdict2, i know this is a very late reply, but sales tax in Boston is 5% on each item over $175. Also, the tax starts at $175.

I've been away from Boston since April and I'm finally going home tomorrow and all I can think about is going to barneys and zara. seriously, after so long away, even more than I want my own bed, I want to hit my regular stores :ninja:

Lol. Zara has already become a regular store for you? It's only been open for three months :D But it can be fun if you shop during the weekdays when no one else is there. Newbury and Copley become zoos on the weekends.

The one at Burlington mall seems HUGE compared to the one at Natick.

Anybody like cute antique stores? - not necessarily old, but amazing! Theres this one place I always go to when I go to my parents house (well.. my house too) that always has amazing jewelry? Its in Newton (my hometown) - if anyone is interested? - I'll post.

Also, the Filenes Basement in Newton SOMETIMES carries designer items from the Boston stores (Alan, Barney's) for really cheap.

I once found a pair of men's pair of Margiela boots while visiting for $15.

I took them to NY and sold them on consignment for $400 (ie I made 200)

Just to point out - the Filenes Basement men's store on Needham St. in Newton can occassionally have great stuff. Not many men shop there, just Newton women shopping for their husbands (Zegna =( old Polo =( so I've found some really cute men's clothing their for cheap. Besides the boots, I once found like 50 different Prada ties on clearence for $5 each - the skinny cute ones.

It's a hit-or-miss.

But my Mom also found a David Yurman bracelet at the women's store across the street for $40..

I'll have to check out the Filenes in Newton. Thanks for the heads up

If anyone is interested in attending a big clothing swap in the central ma area, Let me know and i will post the info.

its all woman for now...this is the first one I am hosting.
