Bottega Veneta F/W 12.13 Milan

Another stellar outing from Mr. Maier. I was beginning to worry about the route Bottega was going after last F/W, but these two collections have been strong and sexy. This one continues the same line of thought as the Spring collection, just as sensual, but darker and more luxurious. Not sure if I am mad on the prints or peplum (?) looks but everything else gets an A+ from me.

With a different footwear this collection would've been absolutely perfect for me, because it's already really really great.
I am in love with the aesthetic. A very strong woman wich excells in elegance. The silhouettes are very appealing, great print work and those evening dresses are simply exquisite.

Finally, Fall 2012 is getting better! I'm so happy when he does these dark, opulent collections, especially after the travesty of a spring collection.

Great looking collection. It's nice to see Maier sharpen the look up a bit, remove some of the softer edges and do something very sharp and assertive. Those opening coats are gorgeous.

One of my favorite collections of Milan thus far.
I just love how obscure it all is. I'm sensing a small subtle goth vibe from this, which I love. I'm also very fond of the details. For example, I just love the placement of the embellishments. The third gown in post number 14 on Nimue is just too good!

The beginning of the collection is superb with the immaculate tailoring, but I find it loses its way towards the end, becoming more haphazard and uncohesive, I find this a lot with Maier for Bottega Veneta.
I find that some of the shapes are quite reminiscent of Lagerfeld, one example shown below; that extremely broad boulder-shoulder, certainly softened a tad and much more flattering with a longer sleeve.
