yes but Alec shot fashion before so ist not so non fashion anymore , his work is not so much the issue, but lack of story and direction and sense of fashion or luxury even is missing is just ......ok! ......that's what makes it at this level dreadful.

This is gorgeous. Simple, but impactful images.

I quite like this, except for the 'goofy' or just plain awkward posing in some shots.
The combination of the model shots and still life product shots makes sense too.
Totally on brand for Bottega and indeed again a wonderful nod back to the "Art of Collaboration" campaigns under Tomas Maier. Now they need to move on from Alec Soth and work with another non-fashion photographer if you ask me.

I see Pierre Debusschere is now the Image Director for Bottega...Thank god he's not insisting on shooting all the campaigns himself.

Pierre Debusschere been there since Matthieu Blazy took over.... they shared a apartment together even in Milan for a period

I like it too. Solid

Feels like a continuation of proceding campaigns showing structures in landscapes, nature and architecture in a dialogue with the structures of the clothing, fabrics, leather, tailoring

THE IMPRESSION

Honestly, these are great. Location works, the items are in focus and the photography is sublime. I would even say that this is almost glamorous, has to be one of my favourite campaigns in recent yeas.

Something is bothering me in the composition and Art direction of the whole thing. I can’t put my finger on It but something is not working.

However I love the shot with the rear view of the coat and Mariacarla almost on a profile. Something is happening there.

The rest is forgettable.

I think that is because it is quite pure focus on the clothing.

All the people just stand there. There is no interaction between them or between the human and the nature. No communicating gaze.... no touching.... those people are mostly in own world. ALIENated.....Those humans could stand anywhere.

The only exceptions are Mariacarla watching slightly to the person the left site. Or the man stepping in the mud, making the water spreading all around... a small interaction with sourrounding environment.

In that sense it is a little pure / flat

Nice images but everything Matthieu touches lacks originality except good taste
All I see here is the same world from Raf's Calvin Klein, especially Fall 2017 and Fall 2018

I hate to be a fan girl but I think the Burberry campaign managed to be about the clothes, the environnement around the clothes without that much story telling.

I think that sometimes, it’s also good to break the looks from the show for more impact.

This looks great. Moody, has some hint of a theme, good clothes, good casting. The horizontal images with the logo look especially appealing.

I’m a sucker for all his BV campaigns. I just love the simplicity of them and how the products can be fully appreciated. They also have a cinematic quality to them that I just love.
