yes but Alec shot fashion before so ist not so non fashion anymore , his work is not so much the issue, but lack of story and direction and sense of fashion or luxury even is missing is just ......ok! ......that's what makes it at this level dreadful.really? i think theyre nice, idk, we r in a SEA of arty pretentious campaigns, alec soth is very talented, bottega often works with non-fashion photogs, ithe clothes actually look nice.. my bar is low
Something is bothering me in the composition and Art direction of the whole thing. I can’t put my finger on It but something is not working.
However I love the shot with the rear view of the coat and Mariacarla almost on a profile. Something is happening there.
The rest is forgettable.
I hate to be a fan girl but I think the Burberry campaign managed to be about the clothes, the environnement around the clothes without that much story telling.I think that is because it is quite pure focus on the clothing.
All the people just stand there. There is no interaction between them or between the human and the nature. No communicating gaze.... no touching.... those people are mostly in own world. ALIENated.....Those humans could stand anywhere.
The only exceptions are Mariacarla watching slightly to the person the left site. Or the man stepping in the mud, making the water spreading all around... a small interaction with sourrounding environment.
In that sense it is a little pure / flat
