Bottega Veneta S/S 2012 : Karmen, Liya, and Alexandre Cunha by Jack Pierson

umm hmm are the images not suppose to be consistent with each other because yeah i understand different male and female ads but liya's and karmen's look like they're from two different campaigns..

Liya!!!! :woot: Gosh, I love her shot. I agree that it is very different from Karmen's shot, but it still looks very true to the brand. Job well done.

This campaign is a mess. Three shots and they couldn't be any more different from one another. And not in a good way. No connection at all. Very strange.

Thank god Liya is in this, she saves the campaign for me. I think every shot is with a different photographer, if I recall correctly?

EDIT: Yep.

Shot in Coconut Grove, Fla., the campaign is the latest in a series of collaborations between the Italian brand and a diverse array of photographers including, most recently, Mona Kuhn, Robert Polidori and Alex Prager.

does this mean there will be more models featured in this AD?

I'm pretty sure the entire campaign is shot by Jack. Mona, Robert and Alex photographed previous seasons.

I really like it. It oozes with the summer spirit. The styling makes the clothes look refreshing and airy. I love that.

i wanna say that i love the shoe shot the most but in reality, every single shot appeals to me.

i just wished they would have released more shots.

I'm questioning whether this is Bottega Veneta or Banana Republic. I would have never expected them to take such a commercial approach towards their advertising. I don't feel anything when looking at these images and Karmen isn't making it any better.

sooooooooooo Karmen is the star, and Liya got one shot? I am not understanding the logic in this still. When the show was opened with several black models (the most black models casted in a major show). With that being said i am happy for Liya

As much as I am a Karmen fan, her shots are so lackluster in this campaign. Liya's shot is good, but it doesn't take my breathe away, either. This had so much potential to be amazing, because BV is known for their usage of beautiful scenery. :(

I don't get this camapign at all. The images are perfectly fine. But why hire an art photographer to shoot a run of the mill sunny S/S campaign. Testino (or even Jansson) could have done it better.

Kinda strange & disappointing to see that Liya got just one image, because her shot is the best, just love everything about it. Other shots are boring though not bad.

While overall this is aestheitcally pleasing, if a little disjointed, I am used to BV campaigns telling a story, or at least having a theme. I'm not sure where they were meant to be heading with this.......if in fact anywhere.
If anything and quite surprisingly, the menswear ad works best and giving Liya only one pic is criminal. Still there is no doubting Karmen looks amazing here.
