Bottega Veneta S/S 2023 Milan

Nowadays, it's very rare that I'm left speechless after watching a show, but this was one of those times. This collection is just extraordinary. I love the beginning being a direct reference to Blazy's debut at the house, the movement of the fringed pieces was fantastic and the tailoring is just exceptional. I guess its strength lies in the maturity of Matthieu's vision and his becoming more and more confident with time. It seems that the accessories got improved, too. I can already see the Proenza guys being attracted by this collection because I feel like it's all they've been aiming at.

This show literally left me wanting to see more and that's a good sign.

Amazing collection. It was so warm and lady-like. Incredibly luxurious and unpretentious. So many beautiful dresses. Footwear was fantastic. Gowns at the end were incredible. I wonder if he referenced Dior bar jacket because few garments reminded me of it.

Daniel Lee can go f*ck himself.

This is sooooooo much more mature and like rooted in reality than Daniel lee. I like it even if it's not really my style. Watching the show made me feel relaxed. Also I generally despise snake embossed leather but those brown pants in the look with the grey shirt o my g I literally need

I really loved the show! The music was great, the casting was great, the flow of the collection was great.
I really loved the progression from a normcore almost basic 90’s silhouette (clever to have Kate Moss in the mix looking fresher than ever) grunge almost à la Calvin Klein CK One into something more sophisticated, almost bourgeois but surely very creative.

There’s a lot of food, a lot to digest but very beautiful bags, beautiful shoes. It has a point of view and creative ambitions…It’s a lot more mature also, which is something I like.

That being said, the collection while perfect from a fashion aspect lacks in commercial « evidence ». And I think that’s what made the Bottega of Daniel Lee exciting in the first place. Yes sometimes it was silly and almost annoying with that shade of green but there was always a cute knitwear piece, an unexpected color…Something that left a mark on your head and made you say « I need to have it ».

I love the patent, croc embossed Alaia-ish coat and skirt and the fringe coat and a lot of pieces but those striking pieces will cost an arm anyway. The middle part was a bit Proenza Schouler doing Celine and the menswear was very weak…But Mathieu redeemed himself with the evening part!

Anok looked like a vision and I need to see Tilda on the Redcarpet in the lemon dress! Stunning.

It started out rocky with the first set of looks, but I ultimately really liked how this collection evolved and sort of refined as it went on. And those finales gowns are undeniably incredible.

Omg finally some good clothing lol. The outerwear is so fab!

First 30 looks are just flawless. Favorite collection of the season so far.

It's very unfortunate that Bottega showed the same day as Ferragamo. Unfortunate for the latter. There is everything here that the other one lacked.
In short, you feel like you want to see every outfit up close because, even from the distance of a video, you can perceive there is more in each piece than meets the eye. It was a visual and a tactile feast.

Gorgeous clothes and accessories that you’ll wear for 10, 20 years.. maybe forever if it’s a blazer or an outwear piece. I wish I owned everything tbh, this is right up my alley. So beautiful, unfussy, and practical in just the right way.

I will erase from my mind the first 6 looks and pretend it started on the 7th one.
after that: unbelievably good, amazing, outstanding!

the dresses, the leather outfits, the skirts, the prints! the playfulness! novelty and creativity! marvellous!
standing ovation from me!

Really strong collection. It’s a force. The coats are a silent killer. So good

I really like him. He has already has a distinct POV that doesn't abandon DLs BV, but at the same time doesn't lean on it or depend on the past.

I thought it would be tough to follow up that debut collection, but he did with much success.

That’s exactly what caught my eye, too: I bet there’s a lot more to see here than what we can see in the video & pics. Those printed dresses in the middle…there’s more than to it than just a print on a dress, and is that fringe woven into the garment? And is that really denim in the opening looks, or another textile that was designed to look like it? Yeah, I can see where “more than meets the eye” can apply here.

I wish there was more jewelry. The few earrings & necklaces look fantastic, but if they’d want to build on this in the future, I’m all for it.

This BV is more elegant, classy and chic than Lee's, I think that the main part of work in Lee's BV was made by Matthieu! Very good collection, I like desses and skirts a lot)))
