Braided Rugs

Im moving out soon and have been looking for furniture as well as decoration and i came across some braided rugs but most of them seemed too "grandma-ish". i thought the may be not so difficult to make, this way i can decide the color palette to match my decoration.

I found a website that shows you how to do one but it seems to easy to be true. anyone has tried this already?

im thinking this kind of gradient would be really nice, not necessarily pink nor bone shaped
