Brie Larson Has Found the Perfect Airport Sandal—And It’s Also Cocktail-Friendly

Brie Larson has stepped up her airport style game recently. The Academy Award winner debuted a polished yet sporty approach this March when she offset an oversize Gucci hobo with retro adidas sneakers, and proved the power of a practical statement shoe in July when she sported Roger Vivier’s haute alternative to the Birkenstock. Yesterday, Larson combined these themes into one neat ensemble, grounded by sleek summer slides.

Brie Larson topped off her look with a classic adidas originals hoodie, an ideal foil to her tailored fire engine-red trousers. The juxtaposition offered a pulled-together yet comfy alternative to the hoodie-and-leggings combo, while clever accessorizing lifted the look into haute territory. A ladylike ivory shoulder bag provided a subtle pop, but it was Larson’s sandals that stole the show. The strawberry, blush, and sunflower suede criss-cross style lent a posh '70s-inspired twist to the low-key separates. Swap out the sportswear for a girlish summer dress, and the look would have legs well into September.

Has Brie Larson Found the Ultimate Airport Shoe?

While many disagree about whether leggings are an acceptable travel uniform, there are significantly fewer restrictions placed on in-flight footwear. Last week, we chronicled a few of our favorite summer airport shoes, including Bella Hadid’s Topshop boots. The latest to make the case for first-class fashion is Brie Larson, who was seen yesterday at Los Angeles International airport wearing some very snazzy slip-ons.

Larson kept the rest or her ensemble relatively pared back, save for a pop of color in the form of a shamrock green sweater shell, which hit at just the right place to reveal a bit of midriff above her Mother skinny jeans. Her cross-body carrier by Ghurka had a mannish feel, which she offset with ladylike statement sunglasses in a minimalist shade of gray. Where things really got interesting were her Kenneth Cole footwear: Done in a rich tapestry print and myriad of colors, they popped against the rest of her outfit. Better yet, the slip-on silhouette promised to let her breeze through security with stylish aplomb.

Brie Larson Has the Perfect LBD For Date Night Dressing in New York City

Brie Larson was spotted out in New York last night heading out to take part in a panel discussion on her latest film, The Glass Castle, alongside co-star Naomi Watts and Jeanette Walls, who authored the book on which it was based. And while Walls and Watts both opted for the little white dress — a favorite this summer of Kate Middleton, Melania Trump, and Priyanka Chopra — Larson skipped the typical summer staple in favor of the New York City-friendly LBD. The Academy Award winning actress's version from Cinq à Sept married a sophisticated look with va-va-voom elements that evoked old Hollywood icons like Rita Hayworth and Marilyn Monroe.

The dress's sweetheart neckline was lent a dose of '90s-style minimalism through the addition of nude-pink silk charmeuse trim. But the structured body-con silhouette hugged Larson’s physique like the pinup-style dresses favored by Hayworth and Monroe. The contrast fabric reappeared as a flounce at the hem, adding a feminine flourish that was amplified by her structured Gabriela Hearst 'Diana' bag and strappy sandals.
