The same way Sienna copies Kate, it's easy to see how Kate copies Bardot, you can see the resemblence

Yeah!! And sienna has actually said that she gets inspired by Bardots style too.

Please lets not taint this thread with Sienna/Kate comparisons, no one can compare the original. I hate how Bardot has become a "trend" now.

I think it was Catherine Deneuve who once said "at some point you have to choose between your *** or your face". I think Deneuve and Bardot are the quintessential examples of how this is true. That said I think Bardot is one of the worlds top beauty and style icons.

sorry, i dont want to sound like an idiot or anything, but i dont really get that quote :ninja:

do u mean that they chose their face?

:ninja:

Ahhh, what a 60's goddess... love the looks... I need to save some of the photos from this thread for inspiration.

I prefer the old pics...
I like the idea that she didn't have plastic surgery but this neck is awful!!!

I hate seeing pictures of old-used-to-be-beautiful-women.

They usually try really hard to maintain their old looks and it looks terrible. They should just age naturally..

^ But without surgery, hasn't she aged "naturally"?

i don't think these women had to choose....

Wathever you say about plastic surgery.Bardot on those pictures looks awful and i am not tallking just about her neck and face, hairstyle is equeely bad.Its sad what happened to that beautiful woman. You can fight for animals rights without letting yourself go.Every time i see her latest picture she remindes me of a characther from Grey Gardens-sad!She really had style and managed to look like she doesnt care about it!

I think because this women was so amazingly beautiful in her youth and was so notorius for her beauty I think now she's rebelling a bit and deciding not to have plastic surgery. And why should she have plastic surgery? She is not in L.A working as a model, she should be applauded that she doesnt care. Its weird that in society today its shocking if you DONT have surgery rather than if you DO.

Bardot's never gotten me excited. I don't find stylishness in her - I think she was actually quite unclassy.

She was classy in unclassy way.She didnt care and thats how great fashion icons get born. But despite that she managed to look elegant not just because of her clothes but for her behavier towards them! And as for surgery i think its excellent she didnt do it and am im not saying she should. In todays society theres no win situation if you have or not you are critisazed! Its a personal choice!

You may have already figured it out Boobah, it being 3 weeks later and all:p , but the quote refers to how when women get older, they can either have a fleshier body with a more youthful rounded face or they can have an extremely worked out and aerobicized slim body with a bony, angular face.
The quote was said by neither Deneuve or Bardot btw- it was said if i remember rightly by Kathleen Turner and she said it because she had gotten bigger with age but felt her face still looked soft and wasn't just hard angles.
