You're welcome Fiammifero and Annie Hall ! It's true Cannes is not like this anymore but so is the rest of the world, it's just not the same era, sadly. That must have been great though, it was much simpler and without the dozens of bodyguards, all the marketing, advertisement, brands and stuff...ahh those were the days..

She only went 4 times to the Cannes festival? She became such an icon of it that I would have thought she made more apparitions there than that. I like that she decided to not go anymore while a lot of celebrities would do anything to get attention there.

^ I know right ? ! Even in the 50s she disliked the festival, she refused to go in 1957 and instead made a "BB Party" in Nice. Basically, when she didn't go to the festival, the festival came to her..

From then on she didn't want to go ever again. But in 1967, her 3rd husband Gunter Sachs had made a movie and wanted it to be presented in Cannes, which would be a lot easier with Brigitte's presence. He forced her to go there and it was a nightmare for her, yet (you'll see on the video) she managed to keep smiling all the way... They were surrounded by hundreds of photographers, they literally couldn't move, it's not like today where there's a wide red carpet with barriers and bodyguards.

you guys are really good at Bardot history. I was wondering , do any of you know who made the decision on her look. I mean like the big blonde hair , down style. For her it just made a huge change to her. Much better than very early on.

anyway, she never had any stylist, make-up artist and such in real life, she did everything herself (except during some movies , where there was a professional) and nobody told her what to wear or how her hair should like - today's celebrities should take note..- .

ciel--that is a really great timeline of pictures! Things then were so organic ..but there was also a lot of people behind the scenes, a lot of the time it was husbands that changed a woman into what would look best. From your line up , I guess my question would be the change from row 1 to maybe the last pic in 62'. And then from 65' on is so different.

So you're talking about the beehive look right ? She created this hairstyle during her pregnancy. It does look kinda complicated sometimes so maybe she occasionally had a hairdresser ? I'm so jealous of her hair, it's so thick, shiny, wavy, and despite the colorations it looked so healthy and beautiful !
