A Few Caps from The Night Heaven Fell

It's on Youtube in its full glory (along with sub-titles!!) so I thought I might as well go ahead and make some caps of its lesser known scenes. (We've all seen pictures of BB in that lovely black lace shawl with white flowers in her hair, right?) It's kind of a throw-away movie, to be honest-- fun in a melodramatic way, but with a rather contrived plot-line, a love triangle that falls entirely short because the "hero" of it is about as charismatic as a block of wood, and some of silliest death-scenes ever. (Did you know that you can still give a minutes-long monologue about love lasting forever after you've been machine-gunned in the back? Let the movie show you how!)

But BB is still adorable and energetic in this movie and even though her character can be kind of dopey sometimes (woman! you are on the run from the law! eat your damn piglet!), she's still fun to watch. Plus, her outfits in this movie were very cute. I love her casual white-blouse-and-red-peasant-skirt outfit, her spanish tiered white-and-polka-dotted dress, and even her simple black dress at the end of the movie. BB always knew how to wear even the simplest clothes well-- no wonder she's such a fashion icon! :flower:

More Caps from Night... If anyone has any more photos of BB from this movie, please put them up!!!

Thank you for the caps ! I know it's on YouTube actually but I haven't watched it cause I'm so picky about the quality  I'll probably wait till I find the DVD.

 Honestly I'm not surprised it's crappy, I haven't heard great reviews about it and Vadim was a pretty mediocre film-maker.

Btw, here is the only color picture of En Cas de Malheur I have found:

Here are other movies with subtitles :

Voulez-Vous Danser avec Moi/Come Dance With Me
Lighthearted comedy/whodunnit. Bardot and Henri Vidal are reunited after Une Parisienne. Love them together

Cette Sacrée Gamine/Naughty Girl
Early pre-AGCW comedy. I don't like it as much as her other comedies but it's cute and enjoyable nonetheless !

Le Repos du Guerrier/Love on a Pillow
Weird drama. But I don't care I'll watch any BB movie

A Coeur Joie/Two Weeks in September
Useless movie, but BB is gawwjus (what else is new?) and it's pretty stylish (features models in London in the mid 60s)

Et Dieu Créa la Femme/And God Created Woman
BB's breakthrough, holds a special place for me, I love it. The plot might not seem groundbreaking but for 1956 standards it was. Or rather, the character Juliette was.

Le Mépris/Contempt
A drama. I recommend watching it on DVD or in HD if you can, because Godard pays a special attention to the colors, the scenery, it's so much better on a HD quality.

Thanks for the lovely photos, CielDeLit!

I made some caps from Voulez-vous danser avec moi? (1959).

Mademoiselle Bardot

I love this photo-- absolutely gorgeous! In fact, it really astounds me how much BB's hair-color change her look. She looks more... I dunno... refined and elegant as a brunette... but she's somehow infinitely more sexy as a blonde. (Especially since in her early years, she had a very beautiful shade of golden-blonde-- not too light or bleached out, perfectly suited to her golden-tan skin.) Anyway, great photo, and new to me!

Ah, thanks for the gorgeous series of photos from Night, Ciel! She was so beautiful in that photo, especially in that lovely outfit. (Although I wish we had some more photos of her in that white-and-black polka-dot dress too!)

It really was an extremely silly melodrama but BB was still at her absolute peak at the time, which makes it worthwhile in some sense! I forgot to mention but the aunt character was pretty interesting as well in terms of her conflicting motivations and her actress did a very good job with the cheesy material she had to work with.

Really, the weakest link to the movie (besides the rather melodramatic, paint-by-numbers plot) was the male actor who played the lover to both the aunt and eventually to BB's character. I've known planks of wood that could appear more lively and life-like than him. Asking us to believe that not one but two women could be hopelessly infatuated with him to the point of courting death... bah. Even the monologue-after-being-machine-gunned bit was more realistic! :P

And thank you for the great series of links! I'm going to check them out now... Plus, little BB in Naugty Girl is just so adorable! I think I'm going to go make caps of that when I next have time on my hands...

Thank you for taking the time to make these, Fiammi!!!:heart::heart: I've only seen clips of this movie in French on Youtube and she looks adorable here! <3 I didn't even see the part in the movie where she wears that super-sexy black dress... or those adorable hipster glasses! Damn, she looks good with glasses on. Is there anything you could put on her during in the 50's and 60's that wouldn't look great? Even a sack-cloth with ashes?

(Plus, she was pregnant during the filming of this movie, right? Her face looks somewhat different here... fuller than before, with a stronger chin than when she was younger. Still beautiful though... and with great pre-baby cleavage! ^_^)

Ah, I love it when people post up screen-caps of BB's movies! Still photos are great as well, naturally... but I love new content that I haven't seen on other sites. Sometimes it feels as though the "best" Bardot was the one in the cinemas... hard not to appreciate her in motion, after all.

...I'm still waiting for someone to perhaps do caps of En Cas de Malheur if possible... :ninja:

Also, a Great Video about BB's Influence and Importance

I can't embed but you can follow this link... a short video with a lot of great information on BB's influence and her importance in the history of cinema, fashion, and even feminism. Who else throws convention away as provocatively as her? Even Simone Bouvier loved her!

http://www.guardian.co.uk/film/audioslideshow/2009/sep/22/brigitte-bardot-france

And a very cute photo from the slideshow I haven't seen before. So pretty and so wild-- like a siren just out of the sea!

--> BB wanders innocently into a bar, wearing a little brown number... before some random French jackasses decide to jump her!

--> So she begins with a friendly little punch to the face...

--> Continues with a spinning kick that throws a grown-*** man through the window!!!

--> ...Then she gets briefly picked up by some french broad with more guts than brains...

--> Causing her to apply her foot to said lady's bottom with supreme prejudice!

--> And even when she's being hustled out, she can't help but throw one last punch just for the hell of it.

...But seriously, words cannot do this justice. One must simply watch it for the full effects. XD

I made a few, though my copy of the film is not that great quality, so these are not very good.

Great work Fiammifero!! all the screencaps are amazing, especially the VVDAM ones !

Funnyfan I love brunette BB too, she was so fresh-faced, she needed little to no make-up to shine ! She's gorgeous in "The Light Across The Street".

And yes she was pregnant in VVDAM (her boobs ! :woot: haha), which is crazy when you see the dance moves she performs !

So here are my caps from En Cas de Malheur, I wish I were a techie so I could send the movie to you ! But I'm really rubbish at all the computer stuff.
