I think when it came to buns she probably could have a team and when she kept her hair loose she didn't need anyone because it just was in such great condition.

Í always asked myself looking at her candids whether she did her own hair or she had a team.

In candids, most definitely ! Even in video clips (see at 3:30). On the whole, she did her hair and make-up herself most of the time, with exceptions : for some movies, professionals were hired (like Odette Berroyer) and probably for the events when she had a really complicated and high beehive. Likewise she didn't have a stylist and often brought her own clothes on set and for photoshoots. That wouldn't happen nowadays


There are quite a lot of pictures of her with a mirror and a brush, doing her hair and especially her make-up:
