1954 – With flowers at her waist and elegant elbow-length gloves, she was the picture of demure femininity at the Cannes Film Festival.

FIFTIES – Her love of the South of France – and St Tropez in particular – put Riviera chic on the style agenda.

DECEMBER 1958 – She wore a silk taffeta and tulle dress for the Maria Callas gala at the Paris Opera House.

OCTOBER 1983 – Long before they were seen on the legs of Sienna Miller and Kate Moss, Brigitte was working denim cut-offs in St Tropez.

one of the great beauties, but like all the icons, it's her personality that puts in such high esteem now. what does everyone think of the lara stone/bardot comparison?

Ah, Ciel, it's all due to Fiammifero, who was lovely enough to send me CDs full of basically every BB movie out there, ever! So once I learned how to gif, I've been doing it endlessly based on what she sent me. :D

Oh cool ! :D What are your picks for best/worst so far ? ^_^

She was just perfect in her youth!:heart:

I remember watching "And God created woman..." over and over again, even before I got subtitles, just because she was so STUNNING:blush:

one of the great beauties, but like all the icons, it's her personality that puts in such high esteem now. what does everyone think of the lara stone/bardot comparison?

I feel just as insulted as I do when someone compares a model to Kate Moss...

Lara is a very beautiful, interesting looking woman, but Bardot was the ultimate sex kitten. I don't know how you would compare that?

Why does the media/people always have to keep comparing "new faces" to the icons? You won't have another Bardot. If you had another BB each decade she wouldn't be iconic...

I scanned some images from Brigitte's autobiography "Initials BB". The photos are nothing new, but I think her self-written notes compliment them. As this book has not been published in English, I translated the original captions myself, so any typos or grammatical errors are my fault.
There are a lot of pictures, but here's the first batch.

That second picture is just proof that no-one looks good on their confirmation day. I feel better about my own now^_^

Thank you so much Fiammifero !!:heart: This is a brilliant idea, and it's such a pity that the book was never translated into English, I'm sure it would be successful. :(

I wholeheartedly agree :D And I particularly dislike the whole "oh she's blonde with gap teeth so she looks like Bardot".

Do you see any gap ? No you don't. You're welcome.

Thank you!! I want this book but have been unable to find it in English.

been a fan of bb forever but something i can never find are quotes from her about her hair and or makeup. like how she did her hair, makeup, etc...
i know there are a ton of youtube videos but i want to know how SHE did it!

^I mostly want to know how she cut and styled her hair in her early brunette --> "...And god created woman" days. Youtube only gives you over-styled bouffants:/

^ yeah me too !! I absolutely love her hair in the mid 1950s.
Her haircut is amazing, I love the curls on her temples/cheeks. I don't know if there's a name for it (In French it's called "accroche coeurs") ?

I just love how her hair frames her face, it's beautifully done  :

So far there's really no precise information about this...we've talked about it on a Bardot fansite and no one knows exactly. I just remember that she didn't wash her hair every day.
