Burberry Resort 2022 London

I'm not sure whether being so literal with recreating Riccardo's Givenchy circa 2014 is going to turn Burberry into a hit. The change of direction is very much telling that his original vision of the British house has been a flop since the very beginning. As a collection, it's his least coherent proposition to date. It just doesn't make sense to show it as a lookbook since it's all over the place.

The irony of his period at Burberry is that it’s selling. It’s doing fairly well in terms of numbers…But it has been very underwhelming in terms of fashion.

I don’t think that Burberry customers are looking for inspiring looks. They might just want statement pieces…

I almost forgot Tisci was still alive. Is there anyone in the world who actually cares about his Burberry?

Designing for a brand like this one must be a hard task, though. Who would want that role? Nobody, and much less a high fashion designer. Anyways, with the cult he had behind he failed to be relevant again. It's not even a washed-out copy of what he was.

Burberry and Riccardo are not a match. And you can tell he's completely uninspired. I think Riccardo doesn't love fashion anymore. He is just getting the money. I feel he wants to enjoy life now, meet cute boys and take advantage of his last years as a, let's say, "young" adult IYKWIM.
