My brother had the most breath taking cake I've ever seen at his wedding. Everything is made of sugar and the bride and groom figurines have elf ears and wings. Sylvia weinstock, the owner of the cake shop in NY came to the wedding. Everyone got to take home one of the sugar flowers at the end. It tasted amazing too, there was enough for 500 but it was all gone with just 150 guests.
The only problem is I wouldn't want to copy it for my wedding but I cant imagine anything else I would rather have
somebody bagged the flowers after they cut the cake? wow. i love the cake, the flowers are incredibly detailed. i love the figurines too, its funny and cute they resemble the couple.
hahah funny story i took a class in food tech and my teacher made the class enter the easter show decoration cake competition
i cbf so i got a fruit cake, icing and food colouring and made some crappy music theme cake.when we visited the exhibition ALL the cakes were like replicas of stuff and perfect decorating with no thumb marks or anything....then you see my cake (+other students) in the corner :/
i got a score of 67/100
i can't believe i "pass",must have been pity marks
speaking of cakewrecks, i love this thread they made:
As you may recall, I get to be one of the judges in this year's Threadcakes competition. However, I'd just like to point out that I had no idea judging would be this hard. Seriously, there are so many surprisingly skillful entries already - and there's still another week to go! - that I don't see how we're going to narrow it down to just a few winners.
it's a competition from Threadless, there are so much more entries on the link
