Hallo!

i'm a Caramel coloured chicky and i'm having a pig of a time here in Canada - trying to find a good Caramel/dark coloured foundation... preferably without chemical sunscreens and retinyl palmitate. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

MAC or prescriptives...good luck findin foundation...youre going to need it...its hard for us :)

it shouldn't be hard at all. MAC is a candadian company and they have so many shades for us. Also Bobbi Brown is really good and so is prescriptives. The only problem is that we have to pay more, but its definitely worth having a shade that's perfect for you than buying something from a drug store that doesn't do you justice at all!

thats the problem...some of us cant always afford to buy 25 dollars on foundation...im a poor college student...its so unfair that people with lighter skin can, if they want or are desperate enough, buy foundation in drugstores...

yes, i forgot about bobbi brown...but i prefer MAC studio fix...works well and comes in a ton of shades

just think of it as an investment that you will always use and that's worth it!

To the original poster....I'm dark brown skin complexion and I love to get foundation from MAC. Its about $25-30 dollars and they have a great variety and its worth the money. to sugar- It lasts about 3-4 months for a good size bottle. $25 dollars for 3-4 months sounds like a good deal to me. Its a good investment and worth it.

In fact as soon as I get paid I need to get some more soon!

Hey thanks for all the replies. :flower:
i don't mind price of MAC - but i've been allergic to their foundations
recently i've tried to give it another go with : studio tech & studio stick in NC 42 and NC 45 - but it's still not a perfect colour match.

My HG was Olay (stick, not liquid) #82 - but that's been discontinued :(
and it's so hard to find a substitute.

i will look into Prescriptives and Bobbi Brown.

Has anyone tried Ben Nye
and if yes, do you know about the ingredients?
i've googled for the ingredients in the cream foundations, but no luck.

Thanks again.
:winkiss:

MAC NC45 it is!!

The first SA chose NC42 for me which was all wrong..
so i went back and tried NC45 & got samples of MAC Studio Tech and Studio Stick Foundations.

Tried each for 3 days.

Studio Stick gave me better colour - actually, perfect colour, but i suspect i'll be allergic to it later. Studio Tech gave me near-perfect colour, a dewy finish and the ingredients look okay to me.

Ended up buying Studio Tech and the Stick Concealer.

Thanks for your recommendations!

The last time i tried MAC was about 7 years ago and i totally broke out.
i hope this time it's all good.
