Prince Charles might have kissed her hand but Gordon decided it was all or nothing
Perhaps keen to over-compensate for his perceived faux-pas at the banquet, Mr Brown made sure to give Carla a particularly warm welcome when she and the President arrived in Downing Street today.
There was none of Prince Charles' kiss on the hand for the Prime Minister - instead, he lunged forward to give her a big smacker on the cheek.
His wife, Sarah, was left to stand on the far side of the group next to Mr Sarkozy as her husband looked at Carla with an almost indulgent expression on his face.
If it was not so uncharacteristic for the Prime Minister, you would almost say he was flirting with the new and extremely glamorous first lady of France. (
LOL)
