Carmen was such an amazing presence when the new-fangled Target ad campaign first came out about a year or two ago. I kept thinking, "Wow...for someone this old, she is stunning!" Seriously, I thought she overshadowed Isaac's presence in those spots!

The veteran fashionista, who last graced the London catwalk during a retrospective for Hardy Amies at the Victoria & Albert Museum just last month, celebrated the landmark with her daughter – but she's still making waves in the fashion world. "Carmen is a living masterpiece and Models 1 are thrilled to represent someone with such history, class and incredible style," says a spokeswoman for her agency. "It's been so much fun working with Carmen in the build up to her birthday, she is a PR dream, the stories she tells are amazing." Discovered on the bus in New York in 1941, Dell'Orefice went on to have an exclusive contract with Condé Nast and be photographed by legends including Irving Penn, Richard Avedon and Cecil Beaton as well as playing muse to artist Salvadore Dali and Donald Cammell.
