Runner- Wow! Thanks for the picture of the jointed leather. What's the website that is from?

Casius, it's for some business use.

wiw, glad you like it this time.
I have some simple pieces.
yes there is something about the object-tanned leather.
I like the effect on kangaroo especially,
nice and eerie, even sexy
it has a bit of glaze, which is uncanny. it's like a dark glaze on a certain kind of worm.
I'd say it feels rich for ccp although it may look dry in the pics.
there was a tie made of the leather.
it was the most beautiful leather tie I have ever seen.

it looked as if those designers had exhausted almost every treatment on leather in the past ten years, and besides, the difference between treatment effects could be subtle, and it might make no difference to some who are not interested.
but ccp chose a nightmare of the object tanning process all the way for the subtle peculiarity. and I think it was worth while and successful.

Yea, I think this season has some of the greatest looking leather pieces. The object dyed belts and boots just look absolutely stunning. The leather almost looks alive.

Thanks for the info, Runner... It must be quite supple then? The kangaroo sounds fascinatingly beautiful esp. I would love to the witness the processes these garments go through. There is an 'old world' quality about the effort and nicety that goes into it, rly.

right choice/understanding of adjectives is often a challenge to me wiw.
honestly I just learned what exactly snug means as against tight, fitted, etc.
so this may be wrong use of the word, but it feels like "chewy".
some could say it's supple yes, but not so in any orthodox way.

Runner, you present your thoughts quite elegantly, in my honest opinion. :flower:

'Chewy' seems quite apt actually as the leather looks incredibly durable despite being soft.

it was what CCP had originally invented in the mid 90's.
but they were so indifferent that they failed to get a patent for it.
if they had been more bisiness-minded, they could have managed C.C.P Srl more easily without having designed for premiata or mandarina duck occasionally almost in secret, or without having faced a crisis of bankrupcy and a lack of funds such as to make them unable to make samples or do collections.

mid 90's...?
had no idea CCP had been around for this long...
or about these other things...

...

not really surprised though...
i would have been more surprised to find out that there was some big business machine behind these very meticulous and carefully crafted pieces...

only someone with an artist's soul could dedicate themselves to this sort of work...and those people usually aren't thinking about the business details...

so-about the clothes...

i don't love these newer boots so much ...:ermm:...
they aren't as refined as previous seasons somehow...

nor do i really love the sweater with the built in mittens...
seems a bit juvenile for a grown man...imo

*if he was smart-
he would make them for little kids who are always losing their mittens...now THAT would be a good business move..

...

i do love the 'bumpy' sweater though...
and the belt seems like you could wear it with everything for the rest of your life...
very sexy rock star imo...
B)

*the pants that stand up by themselves though....:shock::shock:
I freaking :heart::heart::heart: those...
:crush:

thank you very much wiw

softgrey, some say he debuted in 96 although he had started ccp some time before.
I guess that's because he officially founded C.C.P srl after he had been active for ccp for some time.
anyway those designers seem to usually have some capsule collections prior to the "official first" one. maurizio too was already showing his at least early in 93.
coincidently the two were born in 66 btw.
apparently ccp A/W 94 consisted of 5 pieces, which reminds me that sacai started with 5 pieces as well.

the glove sleeve is actually like a bit elongated and engineered cuff with a thumb.
so it will look more natural on a right person.
looks like it's a minorityrev staff member wearing the sweater two sizes bigger in front of the store.
about boots this season, there is one pair I felt like wearing for the first time from ccp. it's object-tempered, that is, object-tanned cordovan boots with kangaroo articulatory inserts in both ankle and instep.
I think you might like it if you are a tim burton fan.

vio, they are the white ones in the first pic in post #927.
they have joint knees too.

thanks ddohnggo
I like this fall version.
too bad it looks a bit too big again. I can imagine why that happens, but if those stores take pics at all, I hope at least they choose a right size, otherwise a right model.

I agree, runner. That jckt. is flawless - in both construct and detail but the fit and/or model is certaintly a disservice.

I can't wait to see the jointed boots. Runner, are there any pics of these yet?
