Carol Christian Poell - Designer

They're abuut £800 in the UK I think. The Library is on Brompton Road, not far from Brompton Cross (home of the Issey shop so beloved to Kit). No website though.

ahh, thanks helena...grr, it's so frustrating when these places don't have a site...infact, I find it incredible that they don't...!!!

A question regarding Atelier and sales... does CCP go on sale there? Or are pieces carried over like CDiem?

I love those boots, even more so than Carpe ones because they have a slimmer profile and the upturned toes aren't as prominent, but... $1400 is a bit too much. Bring it under the $1k mark and i'll think about it!

Atelier just got a new shipment of Poell boots, including the famoust boots (the ones below) from last winter, which Carol made exclusively for Atelier ^_^

I could get two Dior Homme boots for that.. but two of them just wouldn't compare... those are so gorgeous..

how do they feel, Faust?

and I thought Dior Homme boots were expensive.. there must be a completly different level of quality that I just haven't seen

Really cool boots!! Thanks for the pic Faust. Is that leather patching or just stitching details on the side? I like the diagonal zipper too. man...$1400...:(

You are welcome. What you see is acutally a stitched through large piece of leather that wraps around the boot that closes with a clasp on the other side. You cud put your pant leg through it, which is pretty cool.

Albert, A usually puts CCP on sale but not these boots (too hot of a commodity). They also did not put some pieces on sale last season because Carol is not doing a collection this season.

Chris, they feel good. However, some people have said that they are not the most comfortable boots. I have not tried them on myself.

faust, I would like to ask you some questions about the zippered boots you posted. Does Atelier have the size 39 of them and what colors are available?
Any information would be appreciated. The zipper is attached uniquely and their texture is great...

i'd suggest premiata boots if you're looking for more durability and comfort. i tend to wear them a lot over my ccp boots while in ccp, i'd have to be extra gentle with them. i've posted up a pic in the what are you wearing today thread and i think i own the same pair with ionn26. you can't see them clearly though... just to show the idea how they complement d.h jeans.

You don't want to call them yourself? They are very nice. Just tell them Eugene sent you.

Karlo is a very nice and very sensible guy, without any attitude that we'll usually expect from people at an avant-garde high fashion store like theirs. I have a very postitve impression of him although I have very limited experience with Atelier New York since I don't live in NYC. I always try to visit their store everytime I go there, even though lots of time I don't buy anything since almost everything they carry are so expensive to me that I could hardly afford anything unless they are on sale! The other guy, what's his name? Yoyo, Mimi, Miumiu or something?:p He's also fine, but he does have a little bit attitude occassionally, particularly if you don't know him personally and talk with him on telephone for the first time.

Jo-jo? He's a sweetheart.

Ok, I talked to them. They don't have such small sizes.

Apparently after the email (that's where the picture is from) went out they are flying out of the store

I want to be rich toooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you, faust. Oh yeah, I will try to call by myself next time. You should not have been bothered to ask them if you had not known whether the size was available. I just wanted the answer if you knew it at that moment, but of course, I appreciate your favor. I am planning to go there during thanksgiving recess in November when I have enough time to go. However, I have realized that no matter what I do, I could not get the boot if such a small size were available because of a great demand from rich people. I wish I would be living in the city where the store carrying CCP was located and also amazingly very rich.

Oh, no problem :flower: They said they will actually try to buy more smaller sizes in the future (but 40 is the smallest they make them) because there are plenty of FEMALE customers who want them :woot:

I have the diagonal zip boots, and I have nothing but good to say about them.
They are great with almost any outfit..
I havent (yet) had the need to get them resoled.. although I imagine at some point down the road I will.

The only thing I can say is better, might be if you can get the old-season boots of CCP, where he did short-boots and other styles.

Also, Faust - would you mind sending me a PM regarding what nice pieces A has in stock this season? They dont seem to check thier email very often.

ooo, it all gets me so excited...just reading about it makes the hairs on my neck stand on end...lol...

Hi

I may order a pair with hook-closure from atelier or léclareur. But I am a little unsure about the size. I know each ccp pair is unique, but hopefully they don´t vary to much.
Can anyone help me? Do they run small or big in sizes?

I usually wear EU44½ or US11, and like my shoes comfortable, which means I like to be able to move my toes a bit....

Thanks in advance

Morten
