Carolina Herrera S/S 2022 New York

I think he confused which house he designs for. This is very Oscar De La Renta. I don't see Carolina Herrera in this.

But it's conservatively pretty. Probably what the clients want anyway.

Unsure about the towel ring detail used throughout and the balloon dresses lifted from, yes, Valentino but there are nice looks: the black and white gown or the red mini-dress on Sarah Grace. Its biggest sin is just how forgettable it all is.

A very chic and sophisticated collection, very fond of those monochromatic looks at the start, the move into prints, the gold ring detailing and then the gowns to close - the pink vintage Christian Dior-esque number is heavenly!

Never thought that Pierpaolo was such an inspiring designer pushing those volume dress everywhere in the past few seasons.

Hmmm, it's pretty but it's lacking identity or just the wrong identity. I agree that it does feel more like Oscar De La Renta. The volume does seem to be inspired by Valentino but those designs are not that original in the first place so that criticism is irrelevant to me.

Carolina is a very personal brand when it comes to their actual clothing and I find those houses are the hardest to keep going when their creator retires/moves on. Hopefully the brand can find its footing without sacrificing the legacy she has built for herself.

black and white.....floral....gingham.....how bold and inventive
