They need to stop trying to make this another Sex & The City style-wise. Sarah Jessica Parker wore the clothes but poor Lucy Liu looks like they're wearing her...actually, in a couple of cases, it looks like they've invaded her body and are slowly eating her...
 
I missed it last Sunday but there is a re-run of a pilot episode on ABC tonigh (@ 10:00 PM) just FYI. The show looks promising but it does resemble SATC (at least from the first minutes I've seen on YouTube). Great outfits though!

yes I too loved lucy as ling...she rocked it! but carrie was a true fashionista she spent 40k on shoes! i just don't get that fashion is my life vibe from lucy's character. she's looking like someone else dressed her
 
I quite like Lucy's character and I think her dressing suited her role (in media). I think the clothes work a lot better on tv than in pictures. I'm not mad about the plot, it'd be better if it was on HBO and a bit more hard hitting, but there is some interesting stuff. Generally though I quite like the styling. Carrie was SUPPOSED to be into fashion, it was part of the plot of the show. Lucy Liu's character if obviously the most fashion forward but the golfing outfit for example I found hilarious and I think it was intended to be that way. Disappointed that it's not a new episode tonight then!

edit: just checked abc's website and they said it is a new episode tonight.

Yes, I think the fact that’s its on not on a cable channel like hbo means that we won’t get some of the classic one liners Samantha could get away with. They’re always going to be toeing the line. Pity there has to be a line.

I think all of the four ladies are adorable! Their style and their personalities!

I was quite impressed by Juliet, she's so attractive! Could someone tell more about the actress, say Miranda Otto? Thanks in advance!
 
I kept meaning to say this and just remembered now. I think the comparisons to Sex and the City are inevitable because of Pat Field and b/c it takes place in NYC but I actually think it's more similar to Desperate Housewives. Like an urban desperate housewives. Esp. the working mom makes me think of Lynette I think her name is?

Anyway I really loved the blouse that Mia was wearing last episode (black w/ white sleeves) but it was just too much with the earrings. I love the way Miranda Otto's character dresses for work though. The purple blouse was divine.

I think that Cash Mafia has nothing to do with SATC and it's ok with me.SATC is almost a "legendary" tv show.There's no way that any other TV replace it,weither they'll be styled by Patricia,created by Darren Star or even based on book written by Candace Bunshell.The Sex and the City level is unreachable (is this even a word ?) to me,end of story.

I watched the pilot with the only ambition of having good time.I wasn't expected it to be the SATC bacause it's impossible.I enjoyed the first episode a lot and I can't say I'm a fan but I really wanna know,what's goin' to happen next.

On another topic I agree with Meg on the fact that the golf outfit was MEANT TO look ridiculous.It really was .... :rolleyes:
 
Oh I meant to say as well - I thought the second episode was a LOT better than the pilot
