fashionista is reporting that the show's been cancelled...

We hear from a TV source that the very silly Cashmere Mafia has been laid to rest.
If the internal gossip bleeding proves true, it means Candace Bushnell has won this battle with Darren Starr - remember, both her Lipstick Jungle show and Darren's woolly production are based on previous Bushnell books.
The move also marks the first time (maybe) that Patricia Field hasn't been able to save or at least salvage a production from total boredom - remember her costumes for Hope and Faith? They basically rescued the whole show.

What am I going to do ? I can't believe that that nbc ordered 7 additional episodes for Lipstick Jungle.I truely believe that had a great potential and that it deserved an another chance.Life is so unfair sometimes.

It is. Did NBC really order more lipstick jungle episodes? Bah this whole thing was done so poorly. They hardly marketed Cashmere at all (but then again I don't get ABC so maybe they did....) and Lipstick is just SO terribly. I can't look at that terrible lindsay price girls plastic face. Cashmere had just so much more heart and sass than Lipstick.

what the hell. this is sooo wrong. lipstick jungle is beyond beyond beyond borrrring. It is just plain bad. Cashmere Mafia- give it a chance! It's my favourite show right now.

that's so weird. because i loved the pilot of lipstick jungle but the more recent episode of cashmere mafia was soo good to me. this makes me kinda mad!

I heard it was only cancelled due to the strike. Production did 7 episodes and there is 6 more episodes left to work on.

Thanks for the news, but I don't have a lot of hope.They can't even tell when it's goin' to come back,so clearly CM is not their priority right now.In other tems it means,that there's 98% that they don't shoot the last 6 episodes

What's wrong with ABC, this show is on my "must-watch" list...like everyone else I'm really not too fond of Lipstick Jungle.
Cashmere just has so much more sass and heart..I think I will try that email too!

I agree CM is better than Lipstick. And Lipstick got picked up for 7 extra episodes! It's just because NBC has vision that if you give a show a chance it can improve. CM was so much better at episode 6 than it was at the pilot. ABC better get the rest of the original season completed

Cashmere Mafia really grew on me, I tried watching Lipstick Jungle and found the characters, plot lines, and cheesy lines absolutely unbearable.
