Not a fan of her hairstyle at the W event and the makeup looks a bit sloppy. Maybe it's the picture. The dress, however, I really love. Is it Mary Katranzou ?

I think at the moment Cate is way too overexposed. Obviously she is working hard for the nomination/oscar, which is so new from her, I was used to her low profile, " I don't care" ( which never seemed to me very real, but...) posture....
All these magazines, tv shows, panels, etc... seem so desperate ( just like her recent fashion choices). such a pity she doesn't need it. She does give a very nice performance in Carol, but not enough for an oscar IMO and the movie belongs to Rooney.

It's not really desperate because it's probably more of Harvey Weinstein's doing than anything. The rest of the cast and crew have been attending as many panels/promoting the movie just as much as her, so I guess they're desperate, too? They're just doing their job.
