lovely Cate
Her and Diane Kruger were my two favorites of last night and they both wore this color. Cate looked like a true Hollywood screen goddess, I loved everything, the necklace was gorgeous her hair fantastic, love Cate she never dissapoints on the fashion front!
i really liked her look last night 
i didn't mind the length because i think it showed off the shoes which complimented the rest of the outfit
her skin and face looked radiant and i think the gold of the dress really complimented her coloring
i think the unconventional necklace she wore was a clever little touch
a sort of understated (despite the metallic) glam look imo B)

I didn't like that dress on the runway but she makes it work. I agree about the length also
The necklace was a good choice, I think it really is the thing that ties the whole look together, or else things would blend together too much.

After the show, guests like Cate Blanchett moved into a dove-gray tent for the People magazine/Entertainment Industry Foundation gala, where they lounged on lavender couches under enormous garlands of hydrangeas and gardenias. Glass bowls filled with floating gardenias inspired Sandra Oh to tuck a few blooms into her already perfect hair, while across the room CSI's Marg Helgenberger got her groove on to Nelly Furtado's Promiscuous Girl on the dance floor.

Patrick Dempsey greeted Cate Blanchett as the two took a breather backstage. Fresh from the couture shows in Paris, Blanchett shimmered in a metallic sheath from Armani Privé. Expectant dad Dempsey also cut a fine figure.
