I think because Cate is preparing for the part right now, she may think it is good thing to go out for a public event dressed like a music star.

Agree whole - heartedly..
It's the boots what I don't really like about this outfit..
One of the things I like about Cate is she seems so natural and is ageing gracefully.

I didn't like the dress when I saw a pic of it at the Chanel fw06 Couture show, and I still don't like it per se - but I have to say that Cate pulls it off very well and looks stunning I think the outfit would have looked very wrong on anyone else, but she's graceful enough to make it look lovely

Im a brunette and always tend to think of brown haired women as the sexiest but Cate is just breathtaking. She has this inner beauty that radiates out and makes her one of the most beautiful women alive. To be so pale and ethereal..gosh shes amazing. And she can pull off anything with class.

^ it's so easy for them to say that. to be fair, she did pull it off. saying that she looked like an alien is too easy. i actually prefer her look over penelope's (don't get me wrong, penelope looked elegant and the dress was gorgeous but it's her usual glamour look). i love her boldness!
