What's with these pretentious little sculptures on the tables all of these American apartments are full of? I mean the "earthy" looking stones and stuff, such as at Alexander Wangs place? I don't get it, and they look cheap and not personal at all. I would understand if they were actual souvenirs from some exotic resort the habitant went to and brought it back home, but I doubt this is the case as all of these apartments seem to have them.
Edit: What also bothers me is that especially top designers, who should be on top of visual stuff and highly original, seem to have very generic "interior designer" apartments. I mean, just look at Marc Jacobs' place. It doesn't look like it belongs to him at all. I don't see any traces of the world he communicates through his collections. All I see is a posh Park Avenue lady. Also, I saw pics of Francisco Costas place, and I was super disappointed in that too. Considering how sophisticated and interesting and artistic some of his work for CK was, his place didn't show any of that sensibility.
