Chanel Cerf Tote

vintage, I'm definitely thinking about getting this bag. I was going to go with the jumbo classic but think this would be a much, much better bag for my needs. My worry is the strap length, can this be worn on the shoulder?

It can be worn on the shoulder- I usually wear it that way and it fits perfectly. When I wear a coat, it gets a little tighter, but it still fits.

balbabe, if you're getting the larger one, then I'm very sure you can carry it on your shoulder. I have big fat arms and I already could carry the smaller sized one on my shoulder (that is, after it has seasoned a little).

Going OT here - I like the whole Kate Moss ensemble (those pair of sunglasses is nice too; anyone knows who makes them).

Here's another pic of Kate & her white cerf with gold cc clasp.

THAT is such a nice bag .

And just to add on...I think this bag can hold tons and yet look beautiful whether it is fully stuffed or half empty.

I carried mine for the entire time that I was in Tokyo last week and it held up really well.
Not to mention that it is extremely versatile and looks good with jeans or dresses.
This is one bag that you WON"T regret getting :flower:

I agree about the durability. I have had mine for about 6 months and it still looks brand new. I get compliments on it all the time.

I read that someone wanted to know the price. I paid $1650; however the price went up to $1850 when Chanel had their price increase earlier this year. I hate when that happens!

I love the new pics of Kate, it made me feel even more special to have my cerf:blush: .

My only complaint about the Cerf is that the leather gets really slouchy and it loses it shape a little. Does anyone else have this problem? I called by my SA at Chanel Beverly Hills and was told to always keep it stuffed when I'm not using it and to keep the cosmetic bag inside, but I think it's a little late for me.

I think it is the nature of this bag for the leather to get softer with use and for the overall shape to get slouchier over time. personally, I like this quality and don't think it detracts from the look at all. and since this bag is pretty structured anyway (unlike the spy, for example), it's still going to maintain its general shape.

an unrelated question for those who own white cerfs: is yours a true white or a more creamy white? I received one that has a slight yellowish tinge to it that isn't really apparent when worn (when worn, it just looks white), but when compared to other white bags (like my ivory muse), it looks distinctively yellower. I'm just wondering if they made more than one white. TIA!

lily - I saw one brand new the SA took it out from the box and show me it's not white white it's more of creamy white with the yellow tint in it. Hope this help.

thanks klow -- you're always so helpful. did you like the white?

i was so disappointed. i tried to get this bag from hong kong, paris and sydney recently and they are sold out. why shouldn't i make my decision earlier.

i am after the black one. does anyone know where can i still get it? can they ship to oversea? :flower:

^kachi, did you try calling Chanel Singapore or Chanel US?
I still saw a couple of cerf totes when I was in LA, but that was about a month ago..but maybe they'll still be there.

Glad to hear you're getting one...good luck!

i didn't call Chanel Singapore or US. would they ship to oversea, if they got it? did you see the black one?

I saw the black one in South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa, California.
There were also a couple of black cerfs(with the new clasp) in Wynns in Las Vegas, Nevada.

I am not sure if they sure overseas..but no harm asking I guess?

thank you for your reply and help, princessImp.

hopefully, i would get it. but i don't really think so.

^

I bought my cerf tote for my road trip up Highway 1.
It's so handy..and the leather is getting so slouchy with use
Chanel's got everything right with this one!

I share your love too, brian!

I went into Chanel, Melbourne Australia over the weekend...the shop assistant didn't have a clue what i was talking about when i asked for the 'cerf tote'! Is this bag known by some other name? I'm after the brown or black and am planning on calling around the other boutiques to find out..problem is that I can just imagine the vague replies i'll be getting from the shop assistants....how should i refer to the bag?

^Well, I purchased my cerf from Chanel Sydney and it also did seem that none of the SAs that I spoke to in the store knew what I was talking about. Also the SA that was holding the bag for me had gone off for the day. I had to admit that it was most annoying.
Search this thread and I'll believe you'll find pictures of the cerf in this thread. I would advise you to print it out and bring/fax it over to the stores.
Perhaps someone here who has the model number can help you?

Thanks PrincessImp..would you know by any chance if Sydney's got anymore in brown/black?
Thanks
