You probably got that picture from ebay. The cerf with cc clasp only come in one size which is the one in that picture. I was told by SA from Chanel Sydney that the bag made from calfskin. The new cerf non cc clasp come in 2 sizes the large one is the same size with the one in this pic.

does anyone know the measure of handle drop? the handle drop looks a bit different for me when LilyGirland m4ryb3ar were carrying their bags? are they come from different version?

kachi, only the cerf with the mademoiselle clasp comes in 2 sizes...the original cerf with the double c clasps comes in one.

the handle drop for the cerf with the double c clasps is approx. 15cm...I measured mine with my bf's Swiss Army knife..not the best instrument around, so I don't know if there are any TFS-ers that may give you a more accurate reading.

Hi everyone. i was lurking around and thought i should check out this thread and i must say, i really like this tote. its very simple and classic. i have been debating which bag to get for next year and i havn't quite got the definite choice yet. but i am considering this chanel cerf on my list. can someone help me with the pricing? I read through the previous posts and someone said that it's retail for $1650 in US and i wanted to know if this is still the price. And also, is it deerskin or calfskin?? or are they the same? For those who have this bag, does it have a lot of room? is it about the same size as the city balenciaga?? umm.. that's it. pardon for so many questions.

vintage, I'm definitely thinking about getting this bag. I was going to go with the jumbo classic but think this would be a much, much better bag for my needs. My worry is the strap length, can this be worn on the shoulder?

Balbabe, I definitely think it can be and I also like the fact that marybear ages ago, carried it on her arm! I think it would make a great day bag and its really the only chanel tote that I like.

vintage, I think it would be a fantastic day bag. I need something to carry all my belongings as well as files, brochures, etc. for business purposes. I was going to get the one that kare has but now I think I want the larger one with the CC clasp.

Perfect choice Balbabe! Thats the one I like too. I much prefer the gold cc clasp over the mademoiselle one. I think the cc is more classic looking, even though you can go wrong with the cerf in the first place.

It will make a perfect work bag for your files. Think a while ago some people were referring to it as the "chanel birkin" well thats the closest im going to get to a birkin
