Chanel Cerf Tote

iSpot, it does come in white, also pink, brown, and caramel I believe.

i'd love to see it in the other colors. i can't even imagine this bag in pink.

OH MY ... !!! thank you so much for those pics, meeyowsa!! :buzz:

the bag is stunning...bigger than i expected (why does mary kate's seem so much smaller than 15x14!?) anyway, the size is more generous than i expected it to be but i still don't think i'd be able to pull it off. it's a gorgeous bag, however... very strong... it's like a working woman's power bag  ... at least that's how i see it... quite briefcasey. i can picture a lawyer with it :winkiss: ... just not me :(

I just bought the black cerf today! It's really a beautiful, although very basic, bag. And, I am a working woman lawyer, so it's perfect for me!

Wow congrats!

I finally got myself to a Chanel Boutique yesterday and saw a bag that I really  , however, it is white lambskin and I was wondering - how hard is lambskin to clean, especially white, and, can it be treated with something prior to use. The display bag had a dirt mark on it - on the bottom corner  .

Thanks,
Maxi

I've heard rave reviews about getting white leather handbags "treated". I am going to take the plunge for my white bowler bag. I've heard if you get it treated, the stains will just "rub" off. Its a scary process though, because I'm worried my bag will look "different" after the treatment, but I heard it doesn't. I'm gonna do it next week.

Sorry, OT!

Thanks for your reply. Do you know, or does anyone know, if I do buy the white lambskin bag from Chanel will they treat it for me? If not, where do I get it treated?

Thanks :flower: ,
Maxi

the bag is not made of lambskin -- it's deerskin which I expect will be sturdier than lamb.

What about Chanel's white lambskin bags? Can you clean them? Is there a way to treat them without damaging the bag? And, if so, who treats the bag? Chanel? :P

Oh you guys made me want a white one ...I already tried to explain the bag to a Chanel saleslady but she didn't know what I was talking about, I even said it looked a little bit like the Hermes Birkin (after asking if she knew that bag) and then she showed me some bigger quilted chanels . Does anyone know if it's in some permanent Chanel catalogue or something? I get angry when they don't know their stuff and I even have to educate them :shock:

I was at a Chanel Boutique this weekend and they have a HUGE book with all their bags and specs on them. If you're at a boutique, ask the salesperson to see the book.

ignorant SAs are my greatest peeve. it's called the cerf tote and it's made of deerskin -- I don't think Chanel makes any other deerskin bags so they should be able to figure it out. also, it's $1650. I don't think it's yet part of their permanent collection since they introduced it a few years ago, discontinued it and are just now bringing it back in a smaller form. as for treating leather bags, I've never heard of this and would be surprised if Chanel or any other boutique offered this service. I lightly spray some bags with a water repellant, but that's it. what are we talking about here -- scotchguarding? I would never put that stuff on leather. but that's me. I have white lambskin leather bags that I'm extra careful with and don't use often.

Thanks! I didn't know it only was introduced a few years ago ( it looks a bit like an 80's yuppie bag^_^). I also would have liked to see the larger version...sounds nice. Anyway I'm heading back to the boutique and I'm not going to leave untill she figured out they actually carry a bag in deerskin:rolleyes:!
