so my mom's in town and was in need of a new black bag and guess what I convinced her to get? it's the perfect size for her (she's tiny) and quite cute, but it's no bigger than my mulberry roxy. but it does have the two side compartments in addition to the main one (which closes with magnetic snaps -- it's the front compartment that has the CC turnlock), two zip pockets on both sides of the main compartment and a neat zip pouch that snaps into the main compartment. the handles are just long enough to wear comfortably over a coat and the leather is really nice -- supple (more so than the caviar) and durable (unlike lambskin). if she'll let me *play* with it I'll try to snap some pics!
yeah, it is growing on me. I think it'll be even better when it gets worn in and beat up a bit. the leather is the best part -- chanel should do more deerskin. may have to pinch it from mum.

yeah...deerskin is my absolute favorite leather. it's soft and supple, yet very durable...it's quite difficult to sew as well (which is one of the factors as to why bags and such made out of deerskin cost so much)...it's thick and stretches quite easily. and yes, i definitely agree that with age and use it will get even better...
sadly, yes i do think that the cerf would be too small for me...i've seen it on mary kate and it's not even that big on her, and she's so tiny! i'm probably like 50x bigger than she is..it would look like a coin purse on me...
and thank you for your offer to take pics..please do when you have the chance! do you think you could also give me the exact dimensions of the bag when you get it?

I just read this entire thread, and now I like the bag too! 
But I will never get it, Chanel's not really my style, but thats why a I like this one, its very basic/plain, very UNDERstated, hell its a plain black tote for godsakes. 
Brian, I like bigger bags too, the cerf bag looks "medium" on Ashley, so its most certainly not that big. Also it reminds me ALOT of this gucci tote, although I know the Chanel one is probaly 10x better tote. But the style....Gucci has one with the same boxy shape.

I'm including a pic next to my Roxy for comparison. and I'm 5'2" but I think the bag looks a bit bigger on me in the pictures than in real life -- probably the angle.

the bag is stunning...bigger than i expected (why does mary kate's seem so much smaller than 15x14!?) anyway, the size is more generous than i expected it to be but i still don't think i'd be able to pull it off. it's a gorgeous bag, however... very strong... it's like a working woman's power bag
... at least that's how i see it... quite briefcasey. i can picture a lawyer with it
