This whole SEASON is one of the best seasons of all time. I don't know if it aligned randomly, but this season was a peak for so many designers and houses.
I'm not a Chanel stan, but I love this collection. And not just nostalgia. This was objectively some of Lagerfeld's best work.
I might add 2004 & 2005 too..😋Every season from S/S 2006 to S/S 2009 was just flawless.
It is! Fall 2006 will always be a favorite of mine. This whole SEASON is one of the best seasons of all time. I don't know if it aligned randomly, but this season was a peak for so many designers and houses.

I agree. Why was this though? Was it completely just Karl and Amanda, or did they have other lesser-known names helping to create this magic?Every season from S/S 2006 to S/S 2009 was just flawless.
For me, it was even before. I think from 2001 to 2009 it was flawless.Every season from S/S 2006 to S/S 2009 was just flawless.
I think many things influenced his work in the 00’s. There was that period of transition when Amanda joined in 90’s. Victoire de Castellane left, Gilles Dufour left…Then Karl had his diet. I think we might minimize the influence of his diet but also the influence of Hedi in his work.I agree. Why was this though? Funnily enough, I always really disliked Fall/Winter 2009 RTW until I watched the video and found out the original soundtrack was Donna Summer's "Love to Love You, Baby."For me, it was even before. I think from 2001 to 2009 it was flawless.
I think S/S2006 RTW and FW2009 RTW were his weakest collections…
I was in the Grand Palais and at first there was something weird even from afar with those shoes that made me dislike the collection…Then there were the colors (that pink and that green), the costume jewelry…Funnily enough, I always really disliked Fall/Winter 2009 RTW until I watched the video and found out the original soundtrack was Donna Summer's "Love to Love You, Baby."
It's funny how little details like that can change everything. All of a sudden, I absolutely love the collection. Something like a show soundtrack can add a whole other layer of meaning or perception for a collection.
