Chanel Haute Couture F/W 10.11 Paris

AMAZING! the show was just beautiful - did anyone scan the press pictures? The ones where Natasha Poly models some of the looks? If not let me know and I'll scan them in the morning :) now I'm going to sleep and keep on dreaming about the beautiful show

^ Good for you Mimi- if I was a girl I think I'd want about half of the outfits... ;)

Indeed, Haute Couture is about so much more than the look of things, it's the attention paid to every seam, inside and out, rather than the sight of a thousand gaudy beads sewn onto the front of some meringue. And I'm not surprised that, at the moment, a lot of HC has momentarily retreated into a more modest-looking form of itself.

I quite like this... it is definitely chanel but i feel like there is more Karl than Coco in this colleciton it's really quite original while staying on brand... i quite like it

OMFG! This is awesome, how the f*ck did they fit that lion in there?!

the set is epic.
- the collection ends on a high note. love the pieces near the finale. not so thrilled about the introductory pieces though. i feel a bit dissapointed & feel like 'this is not couture' much like others, from what we see here- that said, lagerfeld is of a dying breed & i value the pieces & designs that are presented at this level.

*that lion he is holding def. made it for me :p
IMO this collection was beautiful.

This looks a little outdated to me, especially the first section of the show with those awful suits. For me the silhouette is the problem here; it looks very old-fashioned, no?

The problem with Chanel Haute Couture these days is, it is either far too progressive and futuristic (last season) or it is far too outdated (this season). That is why HC collections like Fall 2006 are perfect, because they unite both the past and the future to create something modern. This is not modern to me. It is beautiful and exquisite in detailing, but nonetheless very "demode".

It feels little like 2006 Fall Haute Couture collection, but it's fine because I absolutely loved that collection :)
