it's so easy when you hold all the dice. sometimes i find myself underwhelmed by chanel but it's refreshing each couture week to find a man who actually sets about doing something new in a non-showy way with the best material and techniques in the world. it's amazing that one man can change the way real women actually dress in such an incremental and pointed way. sure, we have some visionaries who put out wild flaming ideas trying to get the moths of fashion to follow, but karl lagerfeld doesn't worry about trend in that way, he designs things which he knows for a fact women will absolutely order, wear, and keep. if i can think up about twenty new york women who want to get their hands on that red suit, i can imagine how many he must think of. and those dresses, he doesn't even need to give them away....
i must say that something's afoot however since i'm sure it's no accident that those sunglasses crept their way onto runway.
and, poor poor karl, with the demise of his own line and now the retreat of his only reason to stay thin, it looks like he's starting to let himself go a bit....
