Chanel Resort 2006

I LOVE it all. It is classic Chanel, but more youthful. Usally the clothes seem to out of place for me, a girl in my 20's, but this collection is just how I would wear these things!

The little cardigans look vintage and adorable but the fabrics don't look as thick and old lady as they often do. Pencil skirts are great. I think they are good for late summer/fall to keep your legs warmer, but still be a lady in them.

The shoes are sexy! I think shoes with buckles and ankle straps are like restraints, makes you think sex!

The coats look well cut, tight fitting, nothing to boxy. Anyone else pass up 100s of Chanel coats in their boutiques because they just look so boxy?

The jewelry, youthful, wonderful. Now, I wish Chanel would just come down in price on their costume jewelery. Coco used it so it would be accessible for people to own ALOT of jewlery to accessorize as opposeed to owning real gems which are costly, being that most people have less of those.

I have a few Chanel silk camisole tops. I wish they would come out with more.

I think she's actually wearing a one-piece, and holding a bag in the same fabric...not so daring after all...
Oops, it is a bag upon closer inspection.

my friend who did the show said there was a convoy of 5 CHANEL busses and they drove through paris and stopped at different points and the models changed over onto the next bus. apparently everyone in the streets couldnt believe their eyes and they had to stop the trafic at one stop to change over which caused major delays LOL

no exciting gossip im afraid

imo... this is karla's best collection in about ten years... aside from the horrifying gladiator boots, everything is completely amazing. he's definitely back in top form. this is the chanel i've been missing!

You have a friend who did the show....I'm sooo jealous

those cap-toed, triple-strapped 5"(?) mary janes are among the best shoes chanel's ever done.

I really like the dresses.

As someone has said, this is classic Chanel with an extra dose of youth. It's very wearable for a woman in her 20s' and a lot more vibrant and fresh.

Agreed!!! Brian, where did you get your images. None of the usual places have them...Ooops, forgot to look in the most obvious place - www.chanel.com

Ok, so I've seen the collection and now I can confidently say that it's lovely. I don't know what the fuss is about, it wasn't quite as put together as they usually are...

So are people going to waitlist for those shoes? I have never waitlisted anything. I have no idea how that works?!

I doubt it. Chanel generally doesn't have things that are popular enough. Karl is certainly capable of making highly desireable items (the Spy bag) and I think now he's trying to make Chanel a waitlisted brand, look at the gladiator and wedge boots, ya, they're ugly but he knows that's what people want. Im excited for S/S 06, I hope he busts out some gorgeous shoes or a bag.

Chanel accessories are always waitlisted, at least the seasonal rare items that people want to grab up. People most likely are on a waitlist for them at the trunk shows.

Has anyone here been to a Chanel trunk show?
