Well, we can officially say that Ms. Charlene Wittstock is the next Princess of Monaco. She got engaged today to Albert II of Monaco.

HSH Prince Albert Alexandre Louis Pierre Grimaldi, Sovereign Prince of Monaco, Marquis des Baux, was born on 14 March 1958.

His Highness is the son of Prince Rainier III, Louis Henri Maxence Bertrand Grimaldi (31 May 1923 - 6 April 2005) and Princess Grace, née Kelly (12 November 1929 - 14 September 1982).

HSH Prince Albert II succeeded His father, Prince Rainier III, 12 July 2005.

Ms Charlene Lynette Wittstock is of South African nationality and was born on 25 January 1978 in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe. Before settling in Monaco, Charlene Lynette Wittstock was a youth worker.

An interview with Prince Albert and Charlene Wittstock at the Vancouver Olympics. I was so curious at the time, why was the ruler of Monaco giving an interview with his girlfriend? It is clear now that Prince Albert was planning on marrying Charlene, he just had not yet announced it.

Photos from past functions, it will be interesting to see Charlene's style change and emerge, now that she will be the wife of a billionaire prince with unlimite spending on her wardrobe.

Charlene seems to favor strapless dresses or dresses that emphasize her shoulders and arms. I look forward to seeing her in dresses with sleeves. Gowns that don't make her shoulders more obvious.

^ Yes swimmers have amazing shoulders- kind of a mixed blessing- clothes hang very well but one can look kind of 'bulked up' sometimes, too...
She is a beauty, though- and I am hoping for big things from her on the fashion front!!

I have never noticed her wearing Chanel. I think that Caroline wears Karl Lagerfeld designs due to friendship, and of course she must like Chanel. Now that Charlene will have a more substantial budget, perhaps she will have an easier time of dressing a body type with broad shoulders and slim hips.
