Charlotte's partner Yvan Attal proposed to her while he was being honored at the Ministry of Culture, in front of a crowd of journalists. (You can see the video here.) I hope she said yes; I want to see her wedding dress!

They started dating about 6 months after the death of Serge Gainsbourg (Charlotte's dad), back in 1991. They have three kids Ben Will has just turned 15, Alice Will be 11 this autumn, and then they have Joe- their youngest daughter is 2.

Those pictures are so cute! You can really see the same smile on Charlotte and her mum in the first two photos.

Thanks Marlowe Tiger! My husband and I married after 25 yrs together (and one son), so I can totally relate to this! Somehow it's really kind of sweet, doing this later. It's like a renewal.

edit: another interesting tidbit: Yvan is born in January; so is my husband. Charlotte is born in July; so am I.
