Every picture this woman takes is timeless! The Newton shot of her in her hotel room is no exception.

She just published an autobiography, Qui Je Suis. I ran to buy it of course (:ninja::lol:) and was kind of disappointed. It seems inspired by the pieces featured in charlotterampling.net some years ago, in the case of that site (or the original article that was taken from) the image + commentary felt more complete somehow, perhaps more casual but like maybe she was being just asked about it and didn't trim the memory or was too careful on her description, in the case of her book, while there were nice family pictures and aspects of her life that she hadn't really discussed (like her sister Sarah), I found it too light and forgettable, I like that she's very guarded but I felt like I ended up reading about parts I don't really care about (personal) and in small drops.. it's also a very small book. I don't want to be lynched here but as I was flipping through it I was reminded of a slightly more interesting topic than Alexa Chung's It Girl.

I read (or may have misread) that it started as some sort of essay, not aiming at turning it into an autobiography, so here's hoping we get something better eventually...

^ Me too, i thought she will be snubbed like by BAFTA!!

She was sublime in 45 Years!

Has Meisel ever shot her, i can't find anything, how did that never happen?

So happy for her too! I loved her in 45 Years!

Imagine if she turns up at the Oscars in Yohji?! :woot:

Such an inspired nomination like Marion Cotillard's last year.

I guess she won't be getting anything... momentum collapsed by a Bardot moment .. where the hell is her publicist and how old is she/he? give this woman a recap of the last decade.

Her statements are heartbreaking. I did like her a lot in 45 Years, but 100 percent Team Brie now. I can't with how gross people are being about these glaringly racist nominations. Also, maybe 'black people didn't deserve to make the cut'? What? Because every white actor there 100 percent deserved it. Not with the mediocre performances filling up Best Actor and Best Supporting. Take a nap, Charlotte.

i haven't actually seen 45 years
and i am still going to watch it
but it's a shame she said these things.
sigh... yeah, someone sit down with her
and clue her in, not just from a PR perspective
but from a deeper one as well.

I haven't had the chance either. I don't think she should be crucified anyway, she's just showing her age, and she's certainly not a politician (or, ahem, running for president), but whenever she's been at Charlie Rose or just any place really, she sounds like the kind of person that's critical enough to understand issues on a deeper level, this is just uncharacteristically lazy... the kind of comment I would expect from someone that lives selfishly devoted to a craft without any sense of responsibility or attention for the society she's in. It's just dumb and sounds too much like a gradma, I'm not even offended.. just

yeah; it's just unfortunate.
people are already labelling her a "racist" wholesale. sigh...
