"The very social Charles Engelhards had a party, and Jackie Kennedy was going. They asked her if there was anyone she'd like to have there and she wanted us! So we went and performed in their apartment. Sonny wore his bobcat vest, and we went after dinner because we weren't sure how to act. I met Diana Vreeland there. I was nineteen, and she said 'My dear, you have a pointed head and you're beautiful. Look at you, you're so skinny. Why aren't you in magazines?' Al I could say was, 'I don't know...' I was like that then. Then I met Richard Avedon, whom I adore, and he wanted to photograph me. We were only supposed to do two pictures, but we ended up spending ten days and Vogue ran twenty pictures."

I have such love/hate feelings towards her. I've never liked her music, but yet, there's still something I find oddly admirable about her. What that something is exactly, I've never been able to put my finger on it. Regardless, she gets a from me.
