jesuisici said:If you're thinking of the Halsted location -- it's been closed for about a year. It was supposed to reopen somewhere in Bucktown, but I haven't heard if it has ... I didn't really dig it much anyway.
Le Fetishe in UK Village has vintage couture (or did![]()

And Penelope's down the street is a cool boutique.

JATE said:are you talking about the HollyWood Mirror on Belmont Ave? I can never find anything in those stores!
june gloom said:that's the one. it is pretty hit or miss, i only have a few things in my closet from there, a couple of dresses, i think. the shop is pretty good for kitschy things for your home, though, it's fun just looking inside. ragstock used to be okay for vintage finds but it's soooo bad now, i don't know what happened. i haven't been to belmont in forever so i don't really know what's going on over there.
JJohnson said:Have u been to this store called Yumi? Its really cool. Its japanese inspired with outfits from local designers. I love it. Oh btw is like on rush or something like that lol

But they did have that $10,000 by Balenciaga there! It was in a case though
They had a few pairs of that blue jacket with the chain...its $2,700+ The rack that caught my attention was the Lanvin rack. AMAZING PIECES! The final thing that I loved was the Benhaz Sarafpour rack. Many cute things were there!JJohnson said:The "best" mens store in Chicago to me would be Barney's New York and Neiman Marcus. Its because of their selections. I prefer Barney's above all the rest because of its chic atmosphere and its abstract, yet cool selection for menswhere. You can also try Saks 5th Ave. They have a few unique things
rui said:how about independent menswear boutiques... i dont care much for the large dept. stores! I am looking for unique things..not the boring silk screened t-shirt look!
iluvfashion said:Should have told her to hire some nice SAs. The current ones with the fake smiles are killing me
Anyway, any favourite vintage shops/consignment shops?
ilaughead said:Reviving the thread! What's new in Chicago? I should be there in a week, if there's any hope! However, I'm sure that all of the 'good stuff' will be gone...but I need this trip. I'll just keep convincing myself how bad this season's clothes are.
