Chicago shopping

Hey guys..
The store I work at is having a trunk show today and tomorrow.. Lewis Cho and Amanda Uprichard. Lewis Cho is my personal fav. Everything is SO SO cute.. Just thought i'd let you all know!!!

Samantha Chicago its at 64 E walton, a couple doors east of american apparel below LA tan.

Thanks for all the suggestions! I'll defintely check them out if I have the chance.

Last minute question: When visiting the Wicker Park and Lincoln Park areas, should I take the car or public transit? Is parking easy to find in that area and is it expensive?

I can only speak for Lincoln park, but take public transit for that area. The last time I went there, all the parking meters were filled, and what parking meters were left were for the residents. It was a nightmare.

I would take public transit for both. It's the easiest to get around and you might see some other spots off the el as well you want to visit. Here is the website that has a train and bus map and schedules. http://www.transitchicago.com/

I have to agree with public transit. The train or a cab, specifically. Finding parking is a pain, I would think especially if you're not familiar with the area.

Public transportation is definitely the way to travel, especially when you're around Lincoln Park and Wicker Park. Parking is hard to find and you'd waste a lot of time looking for a parking spot. Besides, I see more people on foot than in cars around Lincoln Park. So you'll fit right in. ;)

I would look at the CTA Trip Planner so you don't get lost going from neighborhood to neighborhood.

I was thumbing through Lucky and apparently the
Marc Jacobs store is opening in August. I can't wait! :woot:

Thanks for the tips! CTA is definetely very helpful!! It's like public transit for dummies. :p :)

Hmmm I know Gamma Player (2035 N. Division) has a lot of interesting things for men....They may carry those brands in the future, it's something they would stock.

whats brands does gamma player carry for men? their website has no info on this

It does...but it's not the easiest page to find. Here's the list of S/S 07 lines:

Bils, Bitten Stetter, Collection Privee?, Iliad, Messagerie, M-ojo Risin, Pierre Henri Mattout, Sasquatch, and WJK.

Does anyone know anything about the Marc Jacobs store? I heard that the store was supposed to be opening this month/at the end of the summer. August is almost over and all is quiet on that front.

My friend heard that it is opening in September. If you go by there at all it looks like it needs a lot more work. Its bare, nothing on the walls(paint, etc.)

Thanks for the information, InRoom8. :flower:

I wonder why Lucky said it was opening this month in their August issue. Oh well, I'm sure it'll open sooner rather than later.

I'm going to Chicago next week, staying in the Michigan Ave Magnicent Mile are, can anyone recommend a good shoe store? not super expensive designer stuff ( i can get that here!) but something more unique and affordable :)

Cheers! :)

Prescription eyeglasses

Anyone know where I can buy designer (preferably Dior) prescription eyeglasses in Chicago? Thanks! :flower:
