A scruffy Chris Pine leaves Papaya King after enjoying a guys’ night out on Thursday (June 2) in Hollywood.
The 30-year-old actor is in talks to star in the upcoming drama, Mud, the L.A. Times reports.
The flick is “a coming-of-age story” that centers “on two 14-year-boys who come across an adult fugitive of the law, the titular Mud (who would be played by Pine) and must help him escape off an island in the Mississippi. The ambiguity of the story lies with Mud, who is both an unsavory and a redemptive character and who teaches the boys as much as he learns from them.”

Chris Pine meets up with director J.J. Abrams at the premiere after party for Super 8 on Wednesday (June 8) at Regency Village Theatre in Westwood, Calif.

Earlier in the evening, Jaime King hit the black carpet in Proenza Schouler with husband Kyle Newman.

After the premiere, the couple hit the grand opening of Lexington Social House in Hollywood.

Chris first showed off his scruffy beard last week while leaving Papaya King with a group of friends.

FYI: Jaime finished off her look with Jimmy Choo’s “Claudia” clutch, Brian Atwood’s “Maniac” pumps, and Vhernier’s “Vague” earrings and “Pirouette” ring.

Chris Pine goes on a hike through Runyon Canyon on Wednesday (June 22) with pal Dane Cook in Los Angeles.

The 30-year-old actor has been friends with Dane for quite some time now - check out this picture from Twitter of Dane and Chris at the VMAs!

Earlier in the month, Chris sported a scruffy beard as he checked out the premiere of Super 8 with his Star Trek director, J.J. Abrams!

Chris will hit the big screen in several projects next year, including This Means War, Welcome to People, and Rise of the Guardians, where he’ll voice a character.

Chris Pine and Danny Masterson sandwich in Daveigh Chase as they celebrate the launch of the Rebecca Minkoff Shop in Shop at Confederacy on Tuesday (July 19) in Los Angeles.

The trio hung out with Ben Shulman, who co-designs the Ben Minkoff line.

TwitchFilm reports that MGM is eying Chris for the lead role in its upcoming Robocop reboot.

The 30-year-old actor, who most recently filmed This Means War and Welcome to the People, will also be starring in the yet-to-be-titled Star Trek sequel.

Chris Pine is all smiles as he leaves the Mondrian Hotel after enjoying a night with some of his buddies on Wednesday (July 27) in West Hollywood, Calif.
The 30-year-old actor will be returning to the Star Trek franchise for the film’s sequel, which may be directed by J.J. Abrams again, according to Deadline.
While Paramount had previously chosen a release date of June 29, 2012 for the film, it will need to be pushed back to give J.J. enough time to shoot the movie.
