Why did MGC accept this ugly, evil sister of the collection designed by Christian Lacroix in collaboration with Dries Van Noten? Even the accessories are really weird here.

There's this part in the “Dior and I” documentary where they talk about Christian Dior's ghost haunting the rooms of his former atelier... If I were Christian Dior's ghost, I know for sure I would haunt Mary Grace until she leaves... I would poltergeist, lol... The way everytime I think she can't get worse, she proves me wrong... The questionable taste... Those colors... Those backgrounds... Ugh.

Those more minimal pieces are very nice in an Italian way. I think also this is where she performs well, when the silhouette is simple and sleek and embellishments minimal. It goes completely of the rails when she commits to a theme, print or even a color. It’s like she has no intuition when it comes to that. The segments with the gold are hilariously bad. I also find this whole image so unaspirational.

Dior deserves better to say the least.

It's mildly better in the lookbook incarnation, but still, largely uninspired and boring considering the inspiration source in India (!). Personally I thought her first collection referencing India would be in the form of one of those gargantuan Cruise/Resort collections. I hope she is building up to that next year for Cruise 2024...

MGC's Dior is the ugly, evil stepsister of high fashion's Cinderella:
Cinderella wears Theyskens and Galliano,
the stepmother wears Viard's Chanel,
the stepsisters wear MGC's Dior,
the prince wears Tom Ford's Gucci,
the fairy godmother is this version is a tree, so it can't wear anything, but we can just hang some Ralph Rucci dresses from its branches,
And finally, the birds that attack and blind the stepsisters are the couturiers of yore seeking revenge.

If I were Christian Dior's ghost, I would've just outright possess her from the second she pulled out her first collection. Knowing fashion, MGC's replacement will miraculously be worst than her.

I fail to see how any of this is Indian-inspired. But I’m sure people will eat it up like Kim Jones’ ‘Egyptian’ collection.

According to WWD, the collection is inspired by India.

This feels borderline insulting, we may have a rather, shall we say, freewheeling approach to colour but our prints aren't as tragic as that!

I like the black coat with what looks like embroidery on though. And this is a pre-Fall collection so I wasn't expecting good stuff anyway.
