Christian Dior Resort 2009 New York

Oh dear. John, I really love you but you're making it hard.

I'm trying to find to find some bright spots in this and I do see pieces here and there that I like, but the whole tone of the show and the styling in particular make it very difficult. It just feels wrong to me right now.

I love the dresses Lindsay and Vlada are wearing the most. I'm not crying happy tears over everything but I actually don't mind most of it. And the hair looks lovely, I think.

i'm completely lost by this...

i don't think i can find one piece that would even be appealing on its own.

This is painful. It's bad even by recent Dior standards.

Is anyone else giving up hope with Dior and thinking that maybe this isn't just a phase?

i like the idea of a mexican theme... but this is just pathetic
I agree....John has done some AMAZING things with Latin America (RTW SS 02, HC FW 02, RTW FW 02, HC FW 03, HC FW 05, etc)....so this is especially disappointing. He's got Latin blood in him! Why is he making this so campy (it was endearing in Cruise 08, but here it's just...not)

I mean, I like some pieces, but this is the EXACT same thing he's been doing since HC SS 07. It's the same 60's shapes, the same colors, the same fabrics, the same bags, the same shoes, the same hair, the same patterns, the same embroidery, the same embellishments and each time has a slightly different cultural spin to it. First Japan, then Morocco, then America and now Mexico. Come on John...you are SO much better than this.

After, what, 6 shows that have all been like this, I know exactly how you feel...but I simply CANNOT give up hope. It's like betraying my best friend!

This collection is incredibly tacky...

Disappointed but not surprised.

It looks similar to the last cruise collection, but instead of India, it's Mexico this time...
I think John needs to take a nice, peaceful, long holiday...cuz these bad valley of the dolls collections are not up to par with other fashion houses

the clothes arent bad but that whole 60s meets Queen Priscilla of the desert look , which this soo is , getting old and a bit creepy.

no the valley of the dolls were sexy , this is just scary, im telling you google Queen Priscilla of the desert you will see his inspiration right there lol

im sad because he did a bad job with the mexican theme.
Im also tired of seen the same color scheme , leopard print and those bows from last cruise

colour predictions are proved correct :bunny:
intensified pastels..& candy..

i think it's less insulting to the eyes if you pair it with a beige, grey or something
i like the one-colour looks
and the hard wicker-chair like bags white-washed
