Christian Dior S/S 2026 Paris

It was a very cute debut! After all the more or less successful teasers, I'd been afraid to even watch the show, but I think he just delivered what he was supposed to deliver. There were loads of sellable pieces, some braver looks, and nice accessories, so I guess he's safe for now. I'm still intrigued by his take on haute couture, and I think this show was a nice starting point.

Hmm.. it's kinda all over the place.. Some parts looks like his artsy Loewe collection but more girly, and then there are also the futuristic looks that feels like a cleaner Ghesquiere's Vuitton, and then the super commercial looks that reminds me of Virginie's Chanel.. all mixed together with some Dior's code.

I feel that Raf's Dior debut is much more impactful than this... Maybe it's the menswear show and the teaser looks we got from the celebs on the red carpet, but I feel that they dillute the impact of his womenswear debut. I need more time with this, but for now I'm gonna say this collection is kinda underwhelming.

Thank God it’s just Loewe 2.0. Very refreshing to see Dior going back to being a fashion house instead of a lifestyle brand.

Clever of him to have a separate but clear vision for the more commercial side of the house as we’ve seen through the previews.

There’s still quite a lot for him to smoothe out but I don’t doubt he will get there eventually.

I’m actually excited for couture and to see the product in store now whereas with men’s and the previews I was dreading it.

What's up with the extra fabric here and there? Is he trying to help the textile industry?
The skirts with volume don't work as well as the shorts w/ volume in Men's collection. Not flattering from the back.
Trying too hard, and not pleasing.

Awful. Basically a JWA collection with good fabrics. It was unflattering, boring, often just stupid. A merchandise parade with few ugly editorial baits like the penis dresses. This was so juvenile, zero sophistication. At Loewe he must have had someone really talented who saved his ***.
Bags and shoes weren't even interesting.
If this is considered good, than fashion has really hit a new low.

yeah that person was Adrian Appiolaza lol

I don’t know how to feel.

It’s certainly Dior codes through the sterile fresh lens of JWA. There’s Bar, Junon, Trapeze (surprised by the amount of Yves-isms), and Galliano. It feels refreshing but at the same time leaves me confused. It’s definitely a more fashion proposition after MGC but it just feels cold and all over the place. I cannot even say I like the merchandise. Still, with a few ironing out (like ditching the Jonathan Anderson malignant bumps everywhere) it could well work.

I’ve never been a great admirer of J.W. Anderson. I’ve always seen him as a brilliant innovator, yet lacking a truly disruptive vision. Even when looking at this collection — which, admittedly, is more convincing than most of what Maria Grazia Chiuri has presented — the first question that comes to mind is whether he might have attended a seminar on proportions with Virginie Viard. Was the goal perhaps to deliberately erase any recognizable form of the human body?
In my view, this collection feels fundamentally misaligned with Dior’s historical and stylistic identity. It leans more towards the aesthetic universe of a brand like Prada: highly intellectual, almost academic, yet cold and detached, lacking that refined sensuality that has always defined the maison.

I’m torn on this. There are undeniably some strong looks here and I’ll give him credit for trying to expand beyond his usual handful of tricks, but the misses are really glaring. Those bulbous dresses (honestly, testicular is the only word that comes to mind), the denim pieces, and the bodysuits… they just completely lost me.

With his Loewe, I could see a clear vision with his debut, but I can’t tell who his Dior woman is supposed to be in this collection. I know we’ve always criticized him for recycling too few ideas within a collection, so yes, it’s refreshing to see him push into different directions. But with that comes another problem: it feels scattered, like he was afraid to edit. Did we really need this many exits for a debut? A sharper, more cohesive statement would have had much more impact.

As it stands, it’s an okay debut. Not a disaster by any means, but not convincing either. Too many ideas fighting for space, not enough cohesion to ground them. But it's certainly better than having MGC, and I hope I don't have to eat my words after a few seasons.
