I don't know why a mother taking shots is such an issue. Christina has always been in the dancey route since her debut, she also repeated this with Stripped. Christina has not competed with anyone else and she doesn't need to. The Stripped era was such a trailblazer. She was rebellious, avant garde, grotesque at some point, outspoken, she broke free of the mold. With Back to Basics she went against what was current then. Her music, her look, everything. Now people complain since the first single's sound is similar to what has been put out recently? Christina can never win. We always get a good balance of uptempos and ballads in her albums. There is no need to judge the album with the first single released. Dirrty wasn't the representation of Stripped. Why should she follow Celine Dion? Christina has the versatility in her voice that 99% of current singers don't have. She has made great use of her voice by tackling almost every possible genre out there, she has covered legends and highly praised for those. Tell me who else has done it besides her? She has received accolades, praises and respect her peers can only dream of.
Keeps Gettin Better wasn't a flop. It peaked at 7 on Billboard ( a feat considering that yes it's very mediocre, was released to Itunes after 2 weeks that it peaked at radios). It did well although I don't really like that song that much either, but facts are facts. lol The one thing that is a common denominator in all her albums excluding the debut one is the honesty. Her albums are the reflection of the state of her life in those particular time. We don't get it that much these days. People seem to forget that Christina is a Mainstream artist, whatever market Gaga, Britney, Beyonce, etc have is included in Christina's (although I think she has a more diverse market compared to the rest), her label would still want fun/hit songs from her.
Seriously though? Why can't Christina let loose in her lead single? The deep, inspiring and moving songs will be under Sia and Ladytron's production. There is something for everyone in this record just wait and see. The producers are so eclectic and diverse it's gonna be Stripped 2.0 [/rant]
