What's your opinion on cigarette holders? Do you use them?

I my self use them, it's ugly enough to smoke, why not add a little class to it
I think that cigarette holders are classical and allways remind me of the early 1900's to the 50's

If anyone has good pictures of cigarette holders or someone using them please share

I own this type, the brown one, just lost it actually :( pretty sad about it, hope I dropped it at work, then I'll get it back tomorrow

I also own a holder made of bone, simular to this one (just smaller) :

I bought my smoking friend a vintage one in black encrusted in rhinestones. She dropped it and broke it. :(

I have a vintage metal one with bands of rhinestones and pearls:heart: . I don't use it often, as it gives the cigarettes a metallic taste. I also have a long plastic one that reminds me of Breakfast at Tiffanys. I also don't use this often. Both are big attention getters (not that I use them because of that, naturally, but everytime I do use them, I get people asking questions, and even asking to take a puff...especially funny to see guys smoke with a holder! ).
I also have a vintage cigarette case that I got off of eBay. It's my :crush:favorite thing and I take it everywhere . It's engraved "1945 Karachi" {Pakistan} on the inside and has a procession with people, elephants, and peacocks on the outside. It also gets lots of questions and compliments. The best thing about it is taking it to clubs. My ID goes on one side, cash on the other, and cigarettes in the middle. I don't have any pics, but I found this one on eBay that's similar, but mine's not colored.

That's too bad! It reminds me, I bought a friend a flask for her birthday and had it engraved with her initials. Very nice, she loved it, but a month after she got it, she drunkenly drops it and dents it. Then a few months after that, she (again, drunkenly) left it somewhere. Last time I get boozey friend something booze related!

And I also have a holder similar to this one but mine has diamonds on it and is platinum instead of gold.

Holders always remind me of Breakfast at Tiffanys...

I'm not a smoker, but I like cigarrette cases...when I'm using a clutch I usually use the case as my wallet and put the essentials in. Lately I've been liking this silver case with engraved flowers on it...and one with pinup girls on it

Très chic, CelineChic! The case is very nice, and I especially like the idea of your holder (platinum with diamonds! :crush:)

Yeah I'm the same, I don't smoke but I think cigarette cases can be very stylish I especially like ones from the 1920's

Mhm, I do the same thing with cigarette case as wallet... I don't smoke but have long been indoctrinated into smoking as stylish. You get to wildly gesticulate, casually observe, tote rhinestone encrusted holders...? Plus, credit cards and id fit so handily inside 'em.

rhiannonmars -- you're from SF? The haight is dripping with cigarette cases and occasionally holders. Ambiance has a counter of 'em. Some are a little cheap looking, but there was a variety to choose from last i was there. ^^

I loveloveLOVE cigarette holders, too bad I'm really trying to quit smoking

I find cigarette cases and holders fascinating!!!
I have a cigarette case that I got for 20 dollars at an engraving place, and it looks like a million bucks! It's very streamline in design, very Art Deco.B) People always look at it, because very few use cigarette accessories anymore. As for holders, I have yet to find a nice vintage one. I just dont know where to look!:(

Hi Pastry - eBay is a great place to look! That's where I found mine. Just search for "vintage cigarette holder" and you'll find a bunch. If you can, find one with an ejector, so that you can just pop the end out when done.

I don't condone smoking by anyone, but I love the look of a big long cig in a holder...
