I love Clare Danes! I'm still waiting to get My So Called Life on DVD. She's just so talented I don't understand why she doesn't more attention for it. Plus she graduated from Yale, yes?

She was in my state for 4yrs and I never saw her. So depressing.

But yes, am I the only one that thinks she resembles Naomi Watts a touch in some of those photos? She's another actress I adore. I'd love to see them work together.

I think Clare has a rather unique fashion sense. She usually looks lovely, but sometimes she flops, of course she's only human.

I plan on getting the MSCL DVDs also, but they're soooo expensive. I really am looking forward to Shopgirl. I hope Claire gets some attention for it-she's always overlooked for some reason. She gave a great performance in Stage Beauty last year. I thought that she deserved a few nominations at least.

Shopgirl is coming out on October 21st in the US.
You should see Stage Beauty if you get a chance. It's really good. It's cool to see Claire playing an actress (she plays the 1st actress in england after they stop using boys for girls parts, but she- the character- is a bad actress). It must have been a hard part, because Claire is a good actress, and she had to pretend to be a bad one, but do it well. Claire has won these awards:
-Golden Globe
-MTV Movie Award
-ShoWest Young Star Award
-Young Artist Award (won twice)
-Blockbuster Entertaiment Award
-London Film Critics Circle Award
She's been nominated for a couple more, but that's nothing considering her body of work. According to the IMDB she was last nominated for an award in 2003 when she (and the rest of the cast of the Hours) were nominated for a
Screen Actors Guild Award and a Phoenix Film Critics Society Award. She hasn't been nominated for a solo award since 1998. Since then she's made
-Brokedown Palace
-Igby Goes Down
-The Hours
-It's All About Love
-Stage Beauty
and Terminator 3 (which wasn't really award material but the rest were). It's sad that someone so talented can be overlokked in 5 great performances, but she's not the type to try to get a lot of press attention. This fall she has 2 movies coming out (Shopgirl in October and The Family Stone in November). Hopefully she'll get some recognition for those.
I think she's a great role model. She's been in the spotlight since she was 14 but she seems very down to earth and intelligent. She's made education a priority, and she's avoided the typical traps that young actors fall into (eating disorders, drug addictions, drinking problems, plastic surgery etc.)

While strolling through Bryant Park park in NYC I noticed a beautiful young girl coming my way.

As she got closer I noticed that it was Claire Danes. I happened to have a camera handy, and I somewhat sheepishly asked her if I might take her picture. She politely said yes and smiled. I snapped this photo. I said "thanks", she smiled again, nodded, and then continued on through the park, and (?) out of my life. I don't know.​

In retrospect I'm sorry I did not take the opportunity to engage her in some small talk. I've since read a little more about her, and she strikes me as someone with whom I could have an interesting conversation.

I'm sorry but this is not Claire Danes but a younger person looking a bit like her, although her smile is more similar to the Olsen sisters smile. Claire Danes looks taller, has a face that is less round and this is not her style at all.

Yeah, I think it is Claire- The hat compined with the wierd expression makes her look a little different, but if you compare this pic to

I do see the resemblence, so it COULD be her. As for the style-she often lears hats, so I could see her wearing an outfit like this. But I couldn't day for sure. That pic IS on a number of Claire sites, so I figured it was her. Maybe I'm wrong, who knows?

I REALLY do not think that is Claire. Claire's face is much longer and she has a pointed chin. That girl has a short round face. It just isn't her.

No, it's definitely not. The girl on the pic has a much more childish face and expression. And way too bohemian look. Plus, even if Clare Danes seems like a very nice person, she's too private, I think, to be photographed at random in the street with that smile (and no frown). Her hair is blonder and longer right now anyway, and her eyes are not as dark. And, yes, the chin, everything. And the skirt!! Clare Danes's style is more laid back and urban. Not her. But that girl on the pic is nearly famous !
