Truly great collection from Rei.
The uneven, asymmetric pieces...based upon a spiral...were presented more than several seasons ago for one of her women's collections from Fall/Winter 2002. She integrated the same sewing technique into this collection for men. The angled sleeves are fantastic...and very subtle.
The sleeve-pieces with the chest harness were also presented a few seasons ago in one of Rei's collections for women.
The last presentation....in particular..the jackets with the open seams...also hark back to a much earlier women's collection from Comme. The open seams are held together with see-through material...much like chiffon fabric. It gives the illusion that the disected pieces are floating on the body.
The shoes are great, too...the patchwork pieces have been cut on an angle...and they lace-up on the sides..instead of the center.
I'm not sure how I feel about the scribble pieces...I can vaguely read the words "Born To Die" throughout the print....and some of the pieces..such as the jackets...are also printed on the backside with the same description.
