Comme Des Garçons

its a bit large on me, doesnt mean its not a favorite, now does it?
no doubt you've been there too...

so, this brings up an entirely new discussion...does the way something fits diminish the fact that a particular item is endeared or not?
comme can be tricky in this regard.

^
I have the "hands" tube skirt that doubles as a dress.. I never wear it because it's too clingy and too sexy.. but I can't get rid of it because I love it so much :P

yeah- i'm like jungla juana...
if i love it, i still won't get rid of it...
i can never get rid of something that i love...

for example- i would keep that tao top just because the print is so unique and so beautiful...
even if i rarely wore it...

:p

you just gave me an idea...this may be blasphemous, but if i dont sell it, i may use the fabric as trim on the bottom of jeans.

thanks runner...
as much as i love that whole look on the mannequin...
i find it quite difficult to imagine someone wearing it...

:ermm:......

* the socks look very good to me...but, i love socks......

I would wear the entire look...head to toe...but...I would probably put the big bow on the shirt tucked inside the jacket...maybe just one side of the bow popped out.....and with the pants being cropped...I'd wear a pair of the chunky and heavy lug-sole shoes Rei introduced for this collection...not the red suede ones as pictured. That way, it makes the outfit look more masculine and just a slight less feminine.

I know the intent of the collection is supposed to be a bit androgynous...."Neither Man Nor Woman"....it's intended to question the subject of gender through clothing...but I'd rather make the look appear more masc..than fem. The elements are still there...but the presention I would make a little more subtle.

speaking of the upcoming season, this showed up on barneys yesterday. perfectly wearable in 3D and the red/navy combo are bold fresh.

you are welcome softgrey
how about david sylvian :ermm:

if yohji's mission in Y's had been transgression of the gender code, from womens to mens,
this seems like rei's reversed defiance.

Those jackets are really nice, what's the material? Also what's the price range for homme plus?

the material is wool.
homme plus price range can differ depending on seasons.
but that particular jkt on the mannequin is about 90000 yen.

comme comme S/S 12 sale items if anyone is interested
thanks runner...
some nice things there...the dbl coat/jkt is cool...sold out now, of course...
^_^...

i quite like the hats too...
i'm very attracted to hats lately...
not since the 80's have i been so interested in hats...
something is definitely going on with me...
:huh::unsure::innocent:

had to look up the name david sylvian...^_^
i know the band though...
:p

he's so androgynous looking...quite the epitome of the 80's new wave/ new romantic look...

i suppose that i could see that working, yes...
quite well, in fact...but more as a stage costume than office attire...
:p
i guess rei and yohji don't really make clothes for people who work in offices though, do they...;)

:heart::heart::heart:
thanks for the references---definitely puts the clothes into a different perspective...
they are so different when worn by the right person...

sometimes i see people wearing stuff like this and they just look weird or crazy...and then other people just seem like they were born to wear it...
it's quite amazing to me...i haven't quite figured out why that is yet...
:ermm:...

I hope this isn't of topic but I'm wondering if their striped Play tees on ebay are mostly fake or real. Like this one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Comme-des-Garcons-CDG-Play-Striped-Long-Sleeve-Dark-Blue-Red-Heart-/221160701846?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&var=&hash=item337e347f96 Thanks:flower:
it's totally ON topic...
:p

i don't know for sure, but i wouldn't trust any of them...

lots of fakes and i don't know how you can tell the difference without inspecting the merch in person...

fw12, heavy, warm, felted wool.
worn to the office and everywhere else...its really very elegant.

man...i love that coat...
and the shade of red of that scarf...
so signature comme...

the buttons are just ......
i just love the contrast...but they still seem elegantly understated...

i keep falling for that sort of double breasted navy military coat...
i've even bought a couple---
one vintage and one from Thimister...
i even had the thimister coat tailored and fitted...
but the proportions just never quite seem to work on me...

i think i need to get a japanese one from comme or yohji...
they just do proportions differently than european designers and the coats and jackets work better on me than anything else ever does...
:ermm:...
