softgrey, how about some simple black hoodie ? maybe not zip-up one, but just pullover type.
uniqlo will be having another designer collabo line which is likely to have that kind of hoodie.
or a little black cashmere one ?
    and your canvas mice ?

^^so funny that you would mention those shoes~!
i have also been wanting to wear those lately and have been thinking about them...
i don't know why i didn't think to put them together...
   ...
    such a good idea!

    arigato gozaimasu!

hmm...yes- some sort of style like that on top could be good...
i'd love to have a black cashmere hooded sweater...
funny- i haven't got a single thing like that in black...
i guess i usually buy sweatshirts/sweaters in grey these days...
i also think it would be good with leggings...

i just saw this hat...it's comme comme...
i'm so in love...it looks like a little funny wig/cloche...

    well-
i just wanted to let you know that the shoes are super perfect...
    you were right...
    arigato gozaimashita...
    :p

i don't have a good hoodie, but i did try it with something similar just to get the look and - again- you are right...
    it's just great like that...
i'll have to look for something along those lines...

in the meantime, of all the things that i have in my closet, the best thing is a dries top that knots at the shoulder...
it has a banded bottom like a sweatshirt, so it gives that silhouette and the knot is actually very "comme", so it works well, imho...

thanks for the inspiration and collaboration my dear...!!!

    ahhhhhhhhhhhh...
you meant the YY ones, not the MJ ones, didn't you?!
    ugh~!...

    of course- yes~!
those things just go with everything, don't they...?!
honestly- i am more and more amazed by them every day...
(plus- the polka dot insoles i put in them makes them even more kawaii...heehee...and comfy too!)

    yes- good idea...
    arigato, mon amour!

yes I was referring to the YY mice.
anyway I'm glad that seems to have led to your finding the perfect pair lol, and that your skirt seems to have got its great tops now.

i'm not sure i really have found the right top...
    i'm still working on it...
and i think that the YY mice are a MUCH better option than the MJ ones...
i just didn't think of it because i was being obsessed about wearing the MJ ones...
   .........

thanks again for the good idea!

    nani!?
here are some just for reference

suzuki takayuki one from F/W 2013
the reracs one from this fall
hyke ( restarting of the label that used to be "green" that had been taking maternity leave) from S/S 2015
the hyke one might be a bit too much of mode, but I think it will come in dark navy as well as black.

    can this be another inspiration?
    :ermm:

I'd wear a shirt in any dark color.

yes- i think the Y-3 sweatshirt is too "boxy" with the fullness of the skirt...
though i do love it, in general...

thank for the excellent inspiration photos...
i think the suzuki takayuki one is just what i am looking for...
i have a grey one i like but it just isn't very nice together, somehow...
i think maybe because the one i have has no band at the bottom...
i think uniqlo def has this sort of thing but i think it's all made in china...
    :ninja:...

which label is the long one?
    reracs or hyke?
i like that one a LOT---but more to go with leggings or something skinny on the bottom...

a dark shirt could be good- i really like that carpe diem shot~!
i have a black donna karan one that has basically never been worn and may be good...

i'll play around with these ideas...

    thanks darling~!

    you're welcome softgrey

the long one is from the reracs. the grey one with the gloved cuff/sleeve is from hyke.

I picked the suzuki takayuki one from last fall because the one from this fall (all the images below) looks more fitted or compact. this season version, which I think is lightly boiled, is cotton 90 wool 10.

thanks for those links and images runner...!!!
i got so lost looking at all sorts of sweet things ...
from sweatshirts to necklaces to slippers/room shoes...
   ...

i like almost everything that i saw from the reracs this season...
    both men and women...
    the stuff is almost unisex...
i am not so familiar with the brand but it looks like they showed the mens collection on an androgynous looking girl one season...
    that's cool...
reminds me somewhat of the french brand- the kooples...(you have one sweater from them, runner...)
i won't keep talking about them here because it goes too far off topic...
but i quite like a LOT of what they showed this season- esp the jackets, the ankle boots and the little silver anchor on all the jackets- i wonder if that is a pin sold separately or if that is just their trademark this season?
    i love it~!

*reminds me of the little silver mina perhonen shell that i always wear on my yohji cutaway blazer...
   ...
i always think it would be nice to have some other similar style pins to wear on my other lapels because i hate to take that one off ...
it just lives on that jacket- they belong together forever...
    :p
i don't see things like that very often...

and i would love one of those furry neck muffs!...YUM!
   ...

i also think the suzuki takayuki sweatshirt from last season is the better one, in this case...

i realized the reason i have very few hoodies is because so many of my coats have a hood and it looks just ridiculous to have both at once...
    ^_^...

it's so nice to see pics of that woman in her cdg...
she looks very at ease and natural...
honestly- if i ever see people like that, part of me wants to chase after them and ask all about who they are...
i imagine that they must be interesting people who do interesting things...

i do recognise the shirt- IDLF...
frankly, i find that many things i have gotten from uniqlo work exceedingly well with my cdg pieces...
so much so that it stands out in my mind...

the brass anchor pin currently comes with every product from the reracs. it's like their brand logo.

so let's discuss and find pins in the midtown thread then.
seems like mina perhonen still has some.

i don't know if i could wear it like that though...
because i am petite and have hips...
the skirt is long and the fluffy parts already add extra inches to my hips...
then - if the shirt is long, it will hit some of those fluffy bits and just stick out...
i'm not afraid of volume, but i am not too fond of bulk...
and that is what my concern is...
just too much fabric and not elegant enough...
that would make me feel self conscious...

*though i do have a very plain asymmetrical a-line black heavy cotton comme skirt which i have never worn that is similar to the culottes in the left side pic and it might be interesting to try something similar with that skirt...

that anchor pin is gorgeous ...
i know someone who would be very delighted to own this (or a piece of clothe, with this onto it) ...
    :innocent:

    ^_^

    anyway ...

i didn't know where to post this, so here it is.
these are some snaps from the CDG furniture line catalogue (1990). I had no idea Rei ever did a furniture line ....
idea (dsm bookstore in london) is currently selling it ...
    (source: ideabooks instagram)

~ i should probably start a thread for designers' furniture line - or maybe there's already one in the art & design sub-forum.

    interesting...
    thanks!

i should also say thanks to runner for all the pics...
the anchor pin is great as a logo- i agree...
if only my name started with an R...
